However, if you go back and look at the thickness of a steering wheel in the 70's, they were not very thick. Steering wheels even in the 90's were much thicker than the 70's. The problem with this cover is is the same size (width wise) as it was. It has not been made wider to go all the way around the newer wheels. There is about a half inch gap in the middle....right where your fingertips rest. Doesn't feel right. I put it on to protect my wheel from the sun, and it has accomplished that.
