A: Yes, it is paintable. It says so on the directions.

**Q: What temps does this withstand? I'm thinking about using it on the metal chimney pipe for a wood stove (the portion of pipe external to the garage)**
A: SERVICE TEMPERATURE RANGE:
-75°F to 212°F (-59°C to 100°C) white & colors, -40°F to 350°F (-40°C to 177°) translucent

**Q: What us the lifespan of this sealant?**
A: Titebond does not give a specific life span on this sealant.  The product literature does say it remains permanently flexible and has a shelf life of 2 years in the tube in most cases.
