Works great
This is a quality grinder as it should be for the money. We have used it to make our dog's raw food diet. We use the coarse grinder then the fine grind on chicken (bones and all). A whole chicken leg will go down the feed tube and is easily ground. This is a fairly large piece of equipment and is heavy. We keep it on a rolling table so we don't have to lift it to move. It is made out of high quality materials and the pieces can be removed for easy cleaning.

AWESOME GRINDER!!!!!! ๐๐ฝ๐๐ผ๐๐ฝ
THE BEST GRINDER EVER! This company selling the grinder was awesome to deal with as well. I feed my 2 dogs and 2 cats Raw Diets. human grade food. its less expensive to grind myself than to buy it all done. This grinder allows me to make my own top grade organic chop meat for my family as well. Easy to use, Easy to clean, grinds meat and chicken bone to perfection. I am wondering if there is a grinder out there that can grind up Red meat bone? and I need to purchase a Pusher for this particular grinder machine, and I cant seem to find one.

It is a good product.
Weston is a good product. The machine came with shipping damage, the front base plate was compromised and needed to be replaced. I went ahead to see if I could just get a replacement base plate, but I had to send the machine back to resolve this issue. In light of that, I went out to the shop and was able to straighten the plate to nearly perfect. I wish we could order replacement damaged parts instead of sending a heavy machine back and wasting all the resources and probability of getting another one the same or worse again. The machine works well, the throat on the machine is a little narrow for my preference, but completely worth it for the added safety of the operator's hands.

it works perfectly
So far, so good! I bought it used and saved over $300. Honestly, I donโt think itโs ever been used. The box was a little torn, but who cares about the box? Everything inside looked perfect. Iโll test it once I have some meat ready. Itโs super heavy and way bigger than I expected. Oh, and the shipping box looked like it went ten rounds with a forklift, so yeah, I was a little nervous about whether it would even work. The grinder itself, though, looks almost perfect โ just two tiny dents on the corners that you can barely see. Update: Tried it for the first time today โ and no issues at all! Itโs actually really quiet, much quieter than I expected. I saw a one-star review where some guy complained that he had to hold down the power button the whole time. Thatโs not true โ you only hold it if itโs in reverse. Iโll admit, it looks a bit confusing at first, and I almost thought the same thingโฆ but then my brain kicked in. I used it for chicken leg quarters โ no problem at all. I did have to cut them a bit to fit, but no big deal. Cleaning was super easy, too. When I first got it, I thought it might never have been used, but after cleaning it, Iโm pretty sure it was used โ it just cleans up so well it looks brand new again. Maybe I got the grinder from the guy who thought you had to hold the power button down the whole time. ๐ Anyway, if youโre on the fence about getting it โ do it. Totally worth it!

Grinder's augur runs backwards
Waited years to find this meat grinder on sale, I make raw food for my dog and needed one that can handle bones. Was very happy to get this over the holidays for 20% off, about $800, and purchased the LEM foot pedal to have better control over it. Both came very highly rated, and this grinder seems to be a powerhouse, very weighty so I don't need to worry about things shifting off my countertop. Just used it the other day with great difficulty-- the grinder is wired wrong and runs BACKWARDS, making it useless. The augur pulls the meat back towards the machine, turning it into a messy paste. I disassembled and reassembled it multiple times, triple-checking everything--it simply runs in reverse when you turn it on. In order to intentionally reverse the augur, you have to physically HOLD the lever in the back past the off setting, so there's no way to accidentally run it in reverse--it's just wired wrong. When I hold it in the reverse setting, the machine grinds normally, and does a great job, but the reverse function has to be held and only reverses for a few seconds. As it stands, my $1000 grinder is nearly unusable. Considering this is a $1k piece of machinery, this is disappointing and unacceptable. I'm posting this review in the hopes of being able to edit it later, after it has been repaired or replaced. In order to get in touch with Weston's customer service, you have to email them--no phone number is available, so I'm posting this first so they can see the video. All around it's been a deeply frustrating experience that should never have happened.

(All is now good. Update on 8/15/22) Customer service is HORRIBLE
After I posted my terrible review, CS got in touch with me. Maybe they would have anyway and the timing was coincidental. Anyway, after a couple emails and documentation, they sent me a brand new unit. Now I can speak to the effectiveness of this machine. I use it to grind my own dog food, about 50 pounds every other week (3 hungry dogs) and it does a phenomenal job. I grind chicken (bones included), beef, organs, fruit and vegetables, and it works great. The dogs get better food than what is commercially available, at least in my price range, and I can control everything about it. I have had this for less than two months, and mid-use it stopped working. I have only used it 4 times. Initially, it was working great, but now it will not start, and worse yet, I can't get in touch with anyone in customer support. Call the number and you will just get a recording saying to fill out a report online. Well, I did that, and so far, no response. Considering this is almost a $1,000 unit, not only should it work, but when it doesn't, someone should answer the phone and help me figure this out. Ugh, I am angry about this. By the way, yes I did make sure all the outlets have power and tried pushing the circuit reset button. That's all the manual suggests.

Heavy duty and fast.
This grinder has made my life so much easier. I suggest to place this machine on a utility cart so you can roll it away when it's not being used. It's very heavy so I keep it on the cart even when I'm using it.
