I've come to have a fondness for Mahjong after buying my mother a set for Christmas and having played it constantly with my three of my favorite ladies. I get why this game is so beloved, it's such a good time while also being amusingly competitive. I wanted a set for myself just like the one I gifted to my mother. Not only did I find it, I found it with bigger tiles and prettier art. I genuinely like this set.

Read a few reviews stating that the tiles were too small. The dimensions posted are correct. Except one is not correct. It is correct but in the wrong spot for the dimensions. The tiles are 30 mm X 22 mm X 16 mm. Yes the tiles are small but they are an excellent size for Riichi Mahjong. Riichi Mahjong tiles range from 25 mm to 30 mm in height. That is the main reason I bought this set for. Is to use the set for Riichi Mahjong. With the numbers and letters. This is an awesome set to use for beginning players to mahjong. I host a Riichi Mahjong club and I plan on using this set as a teaching aid set for beginners. Just because it doesn't say Japanese Riichi Mahjong set. Doesn't mean you can't use this set to play Riichi with. Just would need to purchase some Tembo sticks. You are good to go. The wind indicator cube is extremely tiny and really my only complaint about this set. The case actually held up when it was shipped to me. I know that the case isn't going to lase long so I am going to get a more solid and stable case for this set. Back to Riichi this set looks awesome on a Junk Mat. With the crylan blue color of the Junk Mat. The green bamboo color on the tile backs contrast really well with the color of the mat. The other thing that you couldn't use this set on Red Dora Days. Unless you repaint one of the 5's in each suit all red. I would get a bigger set than this for Chinese Mahjong but for Riichi Mahjong. This set is perfect for Riichi minus the red 5's. This set is about as close to a physical set used in Mahjong Soul with numbers and letters. With the exception of vintage Riichi Mahjong sets with letters and numbers. Highly recommend this set as an alternative Riichi Mahjong set. Outside of that I would recommend a larger set personally.

Okay, so the case they give you with it is meh… It’s alright, nothing solid or heavy. Just lightweight and portable… Which is fine but can sometimes mean easier to accidentally damage. I’d recommend you get a travel bag to put these in instead once you purchase them… As for the tiles they are the PERFECT Size… These are nice and THICK while still being SMALL. I LOVE IT. These are probably my favorite set to take with me and play just because of how awesome and portable these are… 10 out of 10 would highly recommend these to ANYONE. Awesome set!!!

Well I am giving this Mahjong Set a 5 star rating. I’ll be very honest, the case provided is not sturdy and most likely will be delivered to you torn or broken. The case looks as if it was made with chipboard and vinyl and will tear if handled to rough.That being said when you get to the tiles, Ohhhh Emmmmm Geeeee!!!!! These tiles are amazing. They are weighted very smooth and classy. I am totally in love with this set. Would I tell you to buy this — absolutely yes. If you play in tournaments or professionally I would say buy it for someone who would like to learn Mahjong because you probably have a really expensive set ;P GREAT gift for someone or even as a gift for yourself.I will provide some pictures but pictures will not do it justice you do have to hold them and play with them to see what I am talking about. Also who does not like to hear noise of the tiles when you shuffle or wash them. This is my first set I have waited so long to purchase one and it was worth it. This is my opinion so please take what I say “with a grain of salt”. Thanks for your time.
