Booyah Boo Jig Bass Fishing Lure with Weed Guard

Always nice to catch fish when you tie on a new lure. I added a Rage Tail trailer and had a nice bass within the first few casts. The bass was just over 2 lbs. which isn't gigantic but is a nice fish on our little lake. Had no trouble setting the hook. The rattles worked nicely as did the weed guard.

I rarely buy jigs, but these turned out fantastic. They have a flexible weed guard that easily moves out of the way when you set the hook. They also have dual rattles which I didn't realize before buying. Great for bass. Skirt seems to be pretty good, but about 1/4 came off after a few fish. Hook seems to be pretty sharp, but I ended up sharpening them which made them much better. Overall these are fantastic. Price is pretty high when they're not on sale, unfortunately, but I'll definitely pick up more whenever they're on sale.

Strike king hack attack, dirty jigs, and booyah boo are my go to jigs. Black blue with rage craw trailers. Good quality. Good colors. Good rattles. Good value. Looks fine.

I do like the jog a lot. The way it looks and action is amazing. BUUUUUUUT after using it for the first time I caught 2 +3lbers. I was reeling in the second one and by the time I got the fish in. The just skirt with the rattle was completely gone. They use this crappy rubber band to hold it all together. So I now don’t use it anymore sadly. The color of the jig was really nice as well. Little bit more brown than green pumpkin but the fish like it.

So, I just took up bass fishing again upon retiring and had to refresh my entire rigs and tackle. I've never been much on jig fishing but after Roland Martin showed me how to jig the pads and mats, I couldn't wait to try it. Here in Texas, the sun is intense and bass need to find cover during the day. I mean, they don't have eyelids so it's not like they can shut out the light when they need to. Rigged with a Beaver Creature trailer or color coordinated craw, I absolutely slayed them this year on this lure. The weed guard is much, much more functional than any other jig I tried this year and I did not lose this jig once, nor did it get hung up, except when I might have had to rip it through the grass. It swims nicely on a decent medium, fast rod, but I got better response from a medium heavy. Check out Roland Martin's videos on jiggin' for the big-uns' then get after it. This lure changed my whole perspective on bass fishing.

Haven't used these yet but they look good and are the right size I was looking for. Like the colors. Hooks feel sharp.
