4 THE BIRDS is a transparent, sticky product that remains tacky after the initial application has set. This product may be applied inside onto beams, girders, struts, supports, and other places where birds can sit and roost or outdoors on trees, bushes and vines. (Do not apply to the exterior of buildings or structures). How to use: Surface Preparation: Clean surfaces to be treated to promote adhesion of repellent. Wipe or scrape all dust, dirt, droppings, and other loose debris from surfaces. Seal porous surfaces prior to treatment by brushing on one coat, shellac or a 50% solution of white glue, and allow to dry. the swallows came by to try building a nest again and didn't like it. The swallows have left the building
This stuff works!!! Bar none!!! I bought some netting just in case this didn't work....not needed. I just used a scrub brush and cleaned the areas that the swallows were trying to nest at, did touch up stain / paint as needed. Let that stuff dry for 2 - 3 days.....not intentionally....just got real busy with other projects. Once this stuff was applied.....the swallows came by to try building a nest again and didn't like it. The swallows have left the building! Literally.....they have left the building. I recommend this stuff to anyone with bird problems. It doesn't kill them.....just makes them not want to live there because the surface is sticky to them and possibly smells weird.

Complete waste of money
Complete waste of money! Birds were unaffected by this product and actually tried to build a nest directly on the areas I sprayed. Sprayed several times and came home only to wash next down.

Worked Good.
It solved my problem. No more woodpecker destroying my tree. I watched as it landed several times but it would not stay because of the stickiness.

Didn't work for long. You have to reapply it often, and getting up high for the barn swallows is a pain.

best product ever
Having dozens of swallows nesting all over our ranch house,but with this product I painted a small strip on ledges --no nesting.best product ever!
