Second book did not disappoint
WOW, this book did NOT disappoint. This book starts right where ARV left off. Abi and Finn are in for another hair raising adventure. Now that they are forced to leave the safety of the government bunker, if anything can go wrong, it does. What I liked most about this book was that it wasn't predictable. You learned more about the Arvies and their will to do nothing but destroy all that is living. I really grew to hate these "beings". I loved how Abi and Finn's love really seemed to blossom. This book as it all, suspense, Love, Action, and the thing I Love most about the book is Abi is a girl that is not to be messed with. She can hold her own and is as much of a soldier as Finn and the guys. She is a true girl to look up to. She does show some weakness, but to me, that just makes her human. If you want a face paced, action filled, romance story, this is for you!!!

Well worth a read
I enjoyed the story - picking up where the previous book left off. Not sure what caused the crash, but the group find themselves outnumbered by Arvies and just when they were going to be overrun, help arrives. However, their saviors were not what they expected. Everyone pitches in and continues the fight, and to keep it realistic, some of the likable characters are killed off. Will this group succeed in their biggest undertaking yet and make it to South Dakota? They were some slow parts in the story which I had to skim through, and the love story between Abi and Finn appeared overwhelming to me. There was so much repitition about their love for one another - I get it, but other readers might have enjoyed the developing love story. I didn't purchase a love story. I wanted a zombie tale, and had to turn pages until the action resumed. I was also disappointed that the final 10% of the book was a preview of the next installment and could have been used to complete this book, instead.Still a worthwhile read about a different kind of "smart" zombies and a human telecommunicator with a special gift.

After reading book one which I highly recommend you read
After reading book one which I highly recommend you read, I knew I had to jump into book two.Oh man Abigail is turning out to be one tough chick outside of living in a hive/bunker. Abigail finds herself in trouble in this new hive she let her curiosity get the best of her, though she learns some information about the Arvies that she believes people should know. Before she can be put into a cell it is time for everyone in this bunker to move it seems that the Arvies may be making their arrival and everyone will be sitting ducks. This moves us into the story where we see that there are still good people in the world even if they are in a bunker. When Abigail and her the rest of the people in her crew are found in a tough situation they find Sanctum and they end up helping the good people of this town even if it means losing people along the way. We seem to find out a whole lot more on how these Arvies think and move and it seems they could be evolving. Along with this information we have to wonder why Abigail gets nosebleeds when they are around what exactly could this be? On top of kicking butt we see more of the romance blossom between Abigail and Finn. So a bit of romance within a world of dead things calls for a great story to be read. This author has done an amazing job with bringing this story to life. The plot is steady there is no boring parts, the characters are fully developed, and world is just awesome even for being postapocalyptic.

Engrossing
I am an avid reader of dystopian and apocalyptic genres. In a world where survival is such a struggle it seemed a bit much for the drama some of the losses brought. I get someone who is a friend just overkill in some places and came across a little juvenile. I would have understood the woman who list her husband reacting the way the author had Tina react. Tina and Pike realistically spent very little time together and barely knew each other.Abi was portrayed as a heroine that was too young for the responsibility and that showed up in the storyline. Overall worth the read and really liked it.
