11/5/17 I want to leave an update. This week one of my cats became very ill and the weather here during nights has been cold. I had to separate my cat in a smaller room where he could be comfortable, rest and heal while I kept an eye on him. This little heater kept that small room comfortably warm for him on the min setting/ #2 all night and day. To some this may seem like not a big deal but for me it was very important to keep my cat warm and comfortable while his little body healed from the sickness he had. This little heater is still in that small room, because like I've mentioned before it is the laundry room and is on an outside wall that gets very cold in winter (the last thing I need is frozen pipes that break). I'm very happy to have bought this heater in time for colder weather and also happy that it has done such a great job in warming the area that it is kept in. During the nights with the wash room door closed the room was very warm and comfortable. On the nights and days of leaving the washing room door open the entire den attached was also kept mildly comfortable and warm (which is amazing because it is large with concrete floors and no carpeting, plus a skylight). I cannot recommend this heater enough. It is a great find and was quiet enough not to make noise that would scare my cat while he rested and healed (he is doing much better now and is healing). 10/30/17 Initially, I did not like this unit at all based on leaving it running overnight on high and not feeling warmth in a medium-sized room. What changed my opinion? I gave this heater a second chance and was amazed at just how much warmth actually does come out of it. My grandmother used to have a larger radiator heater of this brand and loved it. That heater would warm up the living room (a medium-sized room) perfectly in winter, so when I saw this one I knew it was a must for our home. Earlier this month the central heating/air conditioning unit went out and is unrepairable, which has left us in a 1250 sq ft (appx 70-year-old) home with no heater. My house was weatherized last year by the utility company & I have put up thermal curtains in all the rooms, laid down rolled up blankets against the bottom of doors leading outside and since my home has hardwood/cement floors I've added small area rugs in most of the rooms to help keep in the warmth. This is the first winter in 22 years that we have no central heat and I admit, at first thought, I panicked about how to keep this house warm during winter. I've done my research on zone heating & know that space heaters can/will & do raise the electric bill in winter (my gas bill with the central heating unit was always right under $200 a month during the cold months) so I am hoping to at least save a bit on heating this way, as there is no other option for us this winter. I have a small space heater in every room we spend our days or nights in and they do manage to keep the house warm when it is freezing outside (we have already had freezing temps this year). This little heater might be small, compact and quiet (no fan) but don't that fool you. The amount of heat that actually radiates from this heater is enough to literally warm to comfort a medium size room (if left on day and night during a cold spell). The very little noise I do hear from this heater is clicking or pinging when it is heating up and then there is silence. I have it set on the lowest temp during the day and then raise that up at night when it is the coldest (I do not use the green button for saving the heat setting to the room temperature). This heater stays on all day and night when it is severely cold in my washing room because of the room being so small & having a single pane window (not a regular storm window like the rest of the house). The washroom gets very cold (cement floors with linoleum) and I fear the pipes for the washing machine will bust with the severe cold air, plus that is where the cats' litter boxes are. My cats have warm butts when it is cold at least. What I thought is the radiator heater would warm up just the small washing room and not the den attached to it, which is the largest room in the house, but on high setting, this heater warms up both spaces nicely. I've attached pictures of the heater on the lowest setting #2, which goes up to 6 and has a min/max button plus the eco setting (the large round button that turns green when it is on). The warm air comes out of little vents on top of the unit and radiates from the middle & back of the unit. Use caution because once this heater is fully warm the back part (has no handle) and gets very warm (enough to burn someone & actually hurt). The rollers are attached and fold under the unit for storage. This is a lightweight heater and can be easily carried from one room to another, if not rolled. Since it is a radiator, there is no fan that kicks on and off throughout the night to keep you awake if you choose to keep it in a bedroom. And when you need to store the unit on the bottom front there is a place to wrap the cord back up so it is safely out of the way. One thing I always forget to mention is this has a 2 prong plugin, instead of a 3 so you don't need an adapter to plug into the wall. The electrician that came to look at the central heat unit said that space heaters are safe if you don't drape anything over or around them and do not plug them into anything but an outlet dedicated to that one heater (no smart outlets, power strips, surge protectors or the like) and always leave space around the heater so it can breathe properly. Just a couple tips for winter: Weatherize your home (sometimes the utility companies offer it for free to homeowners) Put down rolled up blankets or towels along the bottom of doorways to help seal out the drafts that can come in. Replace curtains & mini blinds with thermal backed curtains that not only help seal the warmth in but also keep out drafts and noise from outside. Make sure the thermal curtain hangs at least 2 extra feet below the window frame to help prevent drafts or cold air from coming in through a window (especially picture windows found in older homes). You can also roll up a towel and place it in between the door and screen door to help prevent drafts on a door not sealed or weatherized. If you zone heat, place space heaters in a corner of the room away from anything that can catch on fire if the heater gets too hot, but also in the direction of where you want the heat to go. That way the heat will circulate throughout the entire room instead of placing a space heater in the middle of a room where it will only push air from that point forward and leave cold air behind it. To avoid tripping the breaker box, use the lowest heat setting on a 1500 watt heater and space out the heaters on different circuits around the house (one in each room on a wall with no heavy appliances) and be sure to turn off the space heater if you plan to vacuum or run a device that takes a lot of energy. 70 degrees and below seems to work well in not tripping the breaker box in my home, as anything higher trips the box if I vacuum or use the hairdryer. Hopefully, these tips help and my review as well. I'm on a budget and thankfully Amazon has some great prices on items that are a must have.

This is my 2nd Delonghi. Several months back I purchased the larger model 715T with the 24hr thermo setting. So far, very happy with performance of both. I recently moved back to AZ. The winters are certainly not like back east or mid-west, but it is a area of higher elevation with winter nights in the 20-30s. The home is under 1000 sqf and I did not want to heat with propane at the current high price, (neighbor has filled their propane almost monthly) at about $475 per tank. My last 3 months for total heat, lighting and cooking has been $70, $105 and current bill for Feb at $77. I use the larger DeLonghi unit in the front room-kitchen area, and the smaller unit for my PC office room. During the coldest nights I kept the larger unit on all night at low temp, then turned it up a notch or two in the morning. I'm fairly cold-blooded and prefer warmer to cold. This has kept me very comfortable. Granted, as some reviewers have said, you need to turn it up and let it get up to desired temp,(2-3 hr). This is the nature of a 'radiator' heater. But once up to temp, it will keep area 'toasty' for rest of day. Other reviewers have noted a few problems that I have not experienced, (maybe I'm lucky or they just got a defective unit, which certainly can happen). I did not note a 'horrible' long lasting smell. With the smaller unit it did take a few hours of residue burn off, nothing horrible or irritating. The instruction manual notes all this. I was not annoyed by 'loud pops' when unit was going on or off. I did, barely hear it at times,(and I have excellent hearing). Have not had any mechanical or broken items nor leakage. Note: as a reviewer said, they got a slight 'burn' when touching, (the manual also notes as well). When on high the top of unit can get very warm to touch...but why would anyone assume less? It is a 'heater' folks. So let's consider that when using any such electrical device. Would not advise you to: let children play around it, nor do you want to curl your cat on it. But overall, by touching it you are not going to scald yourself. Smart advice: read the manual. The larger unit I thought would be nice to have the 24 hr thermostat setting, I have only had to use it a couple of times, because after the unit gets to your desired comfort, just dial down a setting and move the thermo dial until the light comes on and it will maintain that temp. In fact, the smaller unit the 7707CM, has a '6' number setting dial that works just as good. This unit, (like the larger one) is also able to go to a 1500w setting, but I have only used it a few times on extreme cold mornings for a couple hours to warm room up a bit faster, then turn it back down to 500 or 700w setting. So, for me, bottom line at present, I would certainly purchase another DeLonghi for my use. Very comfortable and cost effective. Open the box, remove it and 'pop' out the lock in place fold under wheels, plug it in and you are ready to heat. I felt Amazon price and fast free delivery were all pluses.

First I must start with the fact that I have only had this heater for a few days but because it is so good I ordered another and feel compelled to write this review. I have owned a few different style heaters and this by far is the best so much so that I have tested this one and another hair dryer style and the difference is incredible while I had this one on low I could feel the heat up to four feet away and the other I literally had to be a foot away and it was set at max 1435 watts while this one on low was using 614 watt verified with a watt meter. It has the ability to maintain 68 degrees in my master bedroom set on low while the temperature was 38 outside and my bedroom is not small it is 20x25 with a little hallway to the master bathroom. I have a fairly new house made in 2003 but I have a large sliding single pane glass door that just suck the heat out of the room and this little guy again set on low keeps the comfortable for me. Now when I say set on low that means the low power switch on and the thermostat maxed at 6. When I first turn on the unit I set both switches on which means its maxed and after thirty min I set it to low and that is my way of energy conservation because the comfort temp thing is not really good for what it says its supposed but hey nothing is perfect and as long as it heats up my room and keeps the chill out at night while set to low I'm sold. Oh and as for chemical smell something I worried about because I have a very sensitive sense of smell it was very faint and lasted only a couple of hours I was worried because of the reviews but it was no big deal I think its more likely damage from shipping or something so make sure it doesn't arrive with damage to the box. As for why it is so good it all boils down to science the longer the air is in contact with the heat source the more it can heat it if you put your hand over a flame quickly it will not burn you but if you pass over it slowly it will burn you and with oil and all the surface area of this heater more air has more contact with the heat source moving the air with the energy of the heat so all energy is going to heat the air and not move fan blades now with that said I am not a scientist but I did do well in science and even if I was a moron I know what I feel and can see what the thermostat says. Finally because this review is so soon after I just got it I will do a follow up on how it holds up and I will also do one on the second unit also I purchased this from Amazon themselves and I don't work for this company I write my reviews to make the community of consumers better and stronger so when companies make garbage its known. UPDATE: My second unit came in and is even better than the first hotter but also more power hungry which shows quality control issues or just their tolerances are within 200 watts. My first unit uses 1150 and the second uses 1289 both under 1500 but they cannot be used in same circuit on high only on low but I feel two work better than the one on high. I have also purchased two others heaters that work on the same principle (oil filled radiator) and they used even more electricity and give off less heat even though they are hotter to the touch so DeLonghi has something figure out with their design so I still say I have a winner.

As temperatures dropped toward freezing in southern Florida this year, we purchased two of these heaters. I opted for these oil filled heaters over the well-rated ceramic heaters due to concerns over drying the air out too much (some of the ceramic reviewers noted this as a drawback). In the end, while perhaps less than ceramic, the wife and kids seem to feel these dry out the air too. Not a lot, but noticeable. Both heaters arrived quickly and undamaged, but we quickly determined that one of the heaters had a rhythmic clicking about every hour or so. After having the clicking dance wake me up about every hour throughout the night, I called the manufacturer. They said the clicking was not normal and that the unit was defective, and this is where I really like Amazon. I boxed the unit back up, visited the Amazon website, selected UPS pickup right at my door, and two days later the defective unit was on its way back to Amazon with barely any effort on my end and at no cost to me. Simultaneously with the return, I opted for Amazon to send me a replacement unit, which arrived within about three days. No double charge to my credit card since Amazon had my old unit within the allotted 30 days. As for the units themselves, they work great and are very quiet (just a single very subtle thermostatic "click" every now and again when the unit triggers for heat). My father-in-law bought a fan heater from Lowe's a few days before I got these, but took it back because it was too noisy. My wife told him we ordered oil filled heaters from Amazon and they were quiet. He came down to look at what we got, and ordered his own from Amazon. The units emit more than enough heat to keep any of our individual bedrooms warm, even with the bedroom door left open. I left my daughter's room closed for a couple hours to warm it up before bedtime, and when we opened the door, it was way too toasty (her room is about 12x12 with an adjoining bathroom that is probably about 7x7). The unit certainly helps larger areas, but don't expect it to heat a 25x25 area up to normal room temperature when outside temps are 30s or 40s. Having said that, I was happily surprised that our 25x25 living room space never got below 65 with just one of these heaters running in a corner. So it will certainly keep any room livable and comfortable. I gave the unit four stars, but admittedly not giving it five stars was difficult. It is a compact unit sold at a very reasonable cost. It is easy to set up and operate. It is quiet and will keep you warm (but be patient, because it takes a little while to get things warmed up). I didn't give it five stars because, while it is constructed well enough, it's certainly not built bullet proof. The other reason is the unit's very singular and limited role (i.e. it doesn't have options that might make it more versatile). But it's precisely these demerits that undoubtedly provide for the reasonable price, hence my five star dilemma.

I have had this for 2yrs, just pulled it out to start winter#3. Here are my observations, etc. Pros: .Excellent job heating 12’x17’ room where more than 1/2 floor insulation was missing & questionable amt insulation in the 2 exterior walls this room had. .It’s QUIET, or I should say lowercase quiet .It draws only 700 watts on the “Min” setting* .It has auto cycle to keep room at temp/cycles on/off as needed—once you figure out how to make it do so* .Can move it around easily, lightweight-* .RED Indicator lights show if it’s on—a good safety thing and no obnoxious ‘blue’ light that too many electronic things have that contribute to no sleep in dark room. .Fins get hot but I have accidentally touched a few times while it was hot (high setting) & it did not burn/damage skin. Granted, I jerked my hand back as soon as brain registered “omg heat, danger will rogers” but it didn’t leave a burn mark like some other things have (can u say ironing? Lol!) .It heats room slowly & gives real warmth in the entire space without being that super-dry, prickly-feeling heat that comes from blower-type space heaters. You know, the kind that makes your face/cheeks light up like Rudolph & feel windburned like you were out in 30mph winds on top of snow capped mountain—without appropriate protective attire. That’s only me & my sensitive skin you say? Oh. :D :D .It does what it says it does—and does it quite well .I would buy again!! —I like mine better though (all black/gray controls): the newer model has a white panel at bottom edge where cord goes & rest of unit is black. Why? To see the dust better? It’s odd looking Cons: *.It uses 700 on low setting only. BOTH Med and high use 1500 watts. Would have been nice to know before purchase—info kinda buried in user manual. That said, once room up to temp, using low setting kept room warm just fine. *.Setting unit so it will cycle on/off automatically once you get it to desired temp is not intuitive at all. Instructions on this feature were not well written either. *.Wheels on unit: almost a stretch to call them wheels. Hard plastic, don’t roll well and therefore scratch up wood floor. Rolling on carpet=pretty much impossible, so it’s good that it’s not too heavy to pick up to move. Buuuut, you gotta wait until it’s cooled off, obviously. .There was foul odor first couple times it was used but there was adequate notification about this & instruction on ventilating until it dissipated. Not sure how it could be eliminated considering it is an “oil-filled” heater. .THE.CORD.IS.TOO.SHORT. Let me say that again: The Cord Is Too Short!!!! So we’re Not supposed to have this within 3feet of anything but only 4foot cord on unit. Not supposed to use extension cord either. Hmmm, do all the mfg & eng folks have giant rooms with tons of outlets and NO furniture? Do they have outlets scattered about in the middle of the floor in their rooms? This is THE maddening thing about this product. Hey there manufacturers and engineers, please make cord lengths long enough for the way REAL people actually live. Thanks! Overall: Very, very Good value (mine was ~$65-75) Excellent at heating a good-sized room Option to use half the regular power draw is an important bonus Easy to use Quiet, heavenly quiet for a heater, yay!

I was looking for a quiet, efficient heater to use in my sons bedroom at night. His bedroom is on the end of the house and usually 3 or 4 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. This heater did the trick. After reading numerous reviews I had mixed feelings on this. I basically bought it because the price was low enough that if it didn't work, I wasn't out a ton of cash. I'll just say I'm very pleased so far! Pros: Size - When I initially think radiator, I picture the giant iron ones from the old days. This is nice and compact and fits in nicely in the corner of the room Noise - other than a little click when the "thermostat" goes on or off, there's no noise Heat - gives off a nice, moist, calm heat. When I say moist and calm I'm comparing this to other electric heating elements that get red hot and use a a fan that tends to dry out a room in a hurry. This heater emits a nice gentle heat. Efficiency - You set the dial to the desired setting. The unit will heat to that point, then shut down, however it continues to residually heat the room without using any power. When it gets below a certain desired setting, it clicks back on to reheat itself. Cons The instructions could explain how to use the temp dial and comfort-temp a little better. In addition, I'd like to attempt to clarify the "thermostat" issue. Reqading the reviews here confused me a bit as to what to expect. First off, there technically IS a thermostat....just not like the one you're probably used to. Theres a dial with numeric settings on it, not a temperature range like you would expect. It takes a bit of trial and error to get it where you like, but it's not terrible. 1. There are 2 on/off switches. Right(low), left (medium), both (high). I can only explain these as the speed of how to get your unit to the desired temp. If you're not in a hurry, use low. If you want it to heat up faster, use medium, if you want it to temp as fast as possible, use both switches. Once the unit is to temperature, I only use the low setting to maintain a constant temp. This method seems most efficient. 2. Using any of the 3 settings above, turn on the unit and start the dial at 1. 3. After about an hour use a thermometer to note the room temp. (I use a cheap digital one I got from Walmart). If the temperature is what you desire, 1 is your setting. If not, go to #4 4. Turn the dial to 2 (or in between 1 and 2 if you have the time) and repeat step 3 5. Once your room is at the desired temp, thats your setting. I found that in order to keep my sons room at 72 degrees during the cold Chicago nights, I use setting 4. I cycle it back to in between 3 and 4 for when he naps during the day and the outside temp is a bit warmer. I'm very pleased with the accuracy as well. I leave the digital thermometer in his room 24/7. I randomly check it before I go to bed after he's sleeping and in the morning when he gets up. 9 out of 10 times it's right at 72 with the occasional 71 or 73. As for the comfortemp, I cant attest. I dont use it. It was so easy to find my temp range I didn't even bother with it. I also didn't experience and bad odors. Maybe it's because Im only using the lower settings and not cranking it up to heat a big room, but it went from the box to my sons room without having to melt off any coatings or things to that matter. I highly recommend this if you need a quiet,gradual, efficient source of heat.

I've had this heater for 2 winters now and it is the best space heater out there for a few reasons. First, it is *silent*. The clicks people mention are nearly imperceptible, on the rare occasions they are actually produced. I never notice them. If you put it on high, you might hear one when it's heating up. On low, probably not. I generally use this in the living room in front of the tv, so it's not like I need complete silence. But my old Lasko 751320 Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control required turning the tv up at least 10 clicks, the Delonghi doesn't require any modification to the tv volume. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly is the heat it puts out. I keep the house heated to 60 (that is pretty cold when it's 27 outside like it is right now), and kick this heater on to avoid paying the oil man. The electricity it consumes is way cheaper (another reason it rules), and the ComforTemp feature cycles the heater on and off to save electricity but maintain the heat. This means you won't miss having a remote, since it's rendered unnecessary. You can also opt to just use half the wattage by keeping the heater on low. I did blow a circuit once when I had the tv, PS3, modem, router, iron, computer charger, and the Delonghi heater at top volume all on one circuit. I blame the iron, since that was clearly the worst of the items on the circuit. Another reason I love this heater is that it is safer than its competitors. I don't leave it on all the time or anything, but when it's on and hot, it's not so hot to the touch that it's dangerous. My cats sit right next to this thing and I don't worry about them burning themselves. One of them jumped on top of it once (he is not smart) and almost knocked it over, but the wheels stopped it from toppling. I've put a throw blanket over the heater for 30 seconds to heat it up and never thought it would go up in flames. I would never do that with a fan heater. I did notice an odor the first time I used the heater, but it dissipated within a couple of hours and was not overpowering. My one complaint about the heater is that there is no timer on it. So you'll have to get one of those timers you put in the outlet if you want to use it in the bedroom as you fall asleep. If it had a built-in timer it would be perfect, but it's leaps and bounds better than other heaters I've owned even without the timer.

BE AWARE -- IF YOU PLAN TO USE AS A LAST-RESORT HEATING SOURCE TO PROTECT YOUR PIPES!! I wanted to buy a bunch of heaters to place around my home in key areas in winter, in case the main heating were to go out -- these would kick-in (in "Anti-Freeze" mode) at 44 degrees, and hopefully keep the house safely above freezing (at least). So (foolish me) I bought 9 of these, instead of getting one first and testing it... Anyway, the first one I tested in AntiFreeze mode would not come on at all in a 32 degree room -- just sat there stone (ice) cold. So while I assumed the unit was defective, I called DeLonghi tech support before returning it to Amazon (a card in the box tells you to do so). DeLonghi agreed that the unit was defective, so I returned it. Today I opened the second unit, and it was a little better than the first, but not much. In a 36 degree room, it occasionally came on (about once a half hour), the coils heated only VERY briefly (a minute or two), the unit never got hot, and quickly cooled right back down until the next cycle (a half hour later). Most of the time it sat there stone (ice) cold. So I called DeLonghi again, and they seemed to imply that this unit is working as designed. I explained that, per my expectations (and requirements), if my house gets down to 36 degrees, I need this puppy to come alive and go full blast until we get the temp back up to close to 44. But, they explained to me, that I shouldn't expect that. According to them, this heater will only produce very small amounts of heat in AntiFreeze mode -- I should NOT expect it to get good and hot and do some really useful heating. I told them that the product description doesn't say that we shouldn't expect the unit to get hot in AntiFreeze mode, and they didn't argue (BTW they were ALWAYS very friendly and tried to be helpful). But the walk-away was clearly that I shouldn't expect this heater to jump in when the temp drops below 44 and do any serious heating (which is exactly what I need it to do). So I had to send them all back. Needless to say, Amazon was great, and processed the returns no problem. The problem lies with the website description (which was presumably authored by DeLonghi).

This heater is great. It's silent, easy to use and it heats up a large room fairly quickly. The heater has a thermostat with a range from 1-6, it doesn't have actual temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit. It has two switches that allow it to run at either 700W, 800W or 1500W. The heater shuts itself off when the appropriate temperature is reached and turns itself back on if the temperature dips too much. ComfortTemp works well, it keeps the bedroom at a nice temperature throughout the day, if you would rather have your room to feel like a boiling hot sauna, it can do that too. Don't expect this to heat up an entire open concept living room. It's meant to heat bedrooms with the door closed. Unfortunately as good as this heater is, I am returning it. I bought it to keep the plants in my house's sunroom/solarium warm as winter approaches. However this heater was abysmal at heating the room, but through no fault of its own: The windows are not double paned and a radiant heater like this one was a poor choice for heating a room with no insulation or double pane windows. A simple ceramic space heater with a built in fan works much better for this situation, but the best would be an infrared heat source.

Excelente producto, su tamaño, capacidad y el calentamiento del que emana, es como lo que esperaba, cumple con las funciones de calentar un cuarto de 4x4 sin problemas, ademas de que cuenta con un cable lo suficientemente largo para conectarse, y sin tener que estar cuidando o quitando cosas, super funcional el botón economizador de energía, si no quieres calentar un cuarto grande, puedes comprar este mismo, pero con 4 aletas, este por ser un poco mas grande, puede con eso y mas.

No gasta mucha energia se tarda un poco en calentar pero vale la pena, me gusta que no me genera ningun dolor de cabeza cuando lo tengo en la recamara y sus rueditas lo hacen facil de mover. Excelente marca super confiable. Facil de guardar durante el verano. Mantiene una excelente temperatura y facil de modularla.
