In one independent study, after running for 3 hours in an open room there were no detectable levels of ozone present. I have no reservations about using this with my 5 children in my home. I chose this unit after a lot of research. For dealing with viruses/bacteria, there is nothing better out there. The UV-C chamber is a coronavirus death trap--nothing gets out of that chamber alive (not the flu, H1N1, H5N1, MRSA, coronaviruses--nothing). You can read a lot more about pathogen kill rates on the company's web page. The 3-way technology combination does great for both air and surfaces. I'm a bit skeptical about the coverage rate of 3,000 Square feet, but that's the same for almost every stand-alone treatment system (as opposed to the systems that integrate with the building's HVAC system).
