Mini Lathe Chuck Set, Z011 Extension Three Four Jaw Chuck and Connecting Rod Set, Electric Drill Chuck(Type B)

This thing is really cute yet solidly built. I immediately cleaned out the chips left in from the manufacturer and greased the scroll gear before first use. I like it, it operates smoothly and it clamps solidly enough. The main issue i had with getting the run-out down from 0.006" to 0.003" was the thread insert that goes between the 3-jaw chuck plate and the drill's chuck. The thread is a loose fit and when the nut clamps, it causes an ever so slight deflection. If I had a perfectly flat nut, then it might work, but I don't have one matching this thread nor do I have a way to turn it (which is why I bought this in the first place lol). Overall, useful if you don't need a really high accuracy and are doing something like sanding, turning, facing things. I think I will keep it. It is few bucks cheaper on Alipay but you then have to wait almost a month to get it and if you have issues... well it's just not worth the hassle or time for me, so I say good ol' Amazon sellers are the better choice for sanity's sake. Also, my drill press has 0.002" runout, so that is why I said 0.003" even though you can see 0.005" total run-out. I reclamped on my plastic part a few times and got it down to 0.003 runout TOTAL. Just takes some patience I guess. Better do all machining in one go though because I don't think you will get the same clamping twice.

Bought it with interest on using it with my mini lathe because it seems very identical to the original zinc part from my mini lathe which has been working really good all this time. Back to this chuck Looks good and seems to be very well made But unfortunately has some flaws in it 1: is that it has a very noticeable runout Something that you will see when turning on a lathe with it. But maybe you can get alway with it 2: the BIGGEST downside in this chuck is that On the back it has (two spring washers WITH THE O RING IT SHOULD HAVE JUST ONE SPRING WASHER FOLLOWED WITH TWO FLAT WASHERS That will prevent the spring washer to get lose when tighting the shuck. 3 : also when adding this chuck to my mini lathe seems to go a little bit farther than the original part so it will catch up and get stuck with the mini lathe berings preventing it from running Figure It out and add an O ring to preventing going further back to tight up and jam with the berings. Besides all that seems to work smooth and I was happy at the beginning But after tighting some brass on my mini lathe with it Actually started to get lose due to those spring washers that should have been just one and two flat ones besides the O ring. Now I have to look for those flat washers and try to fix it so it can work properly Maybe not sure lol. Will give it four stars Just because it seems to be a good quality and works smooth.

There's excessive runout on this chuck, and coupled with a drill press runout, it makes it mostly worthless for any type of precision or near-precision work. It will get the job done for the most part and the only easy/cheap way to get a J33 chuck to accept an object or bit larger than 5/8".

I don't have a lathe and needed to shape a 1" dowel rod into a handle, for a project. A few thoughts came to mind as to how I could center a round object and spin it without a lathe. Then I ran into this mini lathe chuck. It chucks/fits into my drill perfectly and the four jaws clamp down on the Dowel. I'm not sure how I made it in my craft this far without this tool! So simple yet so genius. A lathe is definitely out of the question in my immediate future. This has all the functionality I need and so much cheaper than a lathe.

I had high hopes. But aftger getting it, there were no instructions on how best to use it. So I was guessing as I went. Which was fine, its not that complicated. But I could never get it to squeeze and lock on my material tight enough to not come loose when I was running the drill. Half of the time either the screw that holes the arm on was coming loose, or the teeth lock was coming loose. Then when I did get it on long enough to do some work, when I took it off, the teeth on it were making big cuts into my material. So I had to use some aluminum cans to cut barriers that made it hold them even worse. Lastly, it came with 2 small metal bars that are used to tighten it. But as soon as I used them they bent like crazy. Overall, this is junk. Probably should have expected as much for how cheap it was. Mine is being returned asap.

Doesn't spin true. Sloppy tolerances. Incapable of turning precision parts. Buy something else unless you don't need precision.

I use this to sand and shine coin rings and it works great! I saw a few negative reviews of this product describing it as small and lacking instruction, but it was exactly as described and doesn't really require any instructions if you have an ounce of common sense. So glad I bought it! save me about 15-25 minutes per ring.

I was repairing some rotted screw holes in a wooden garage door. I drilled out the rot with a 1" hole saw, centered on the screw. I needed to center bore some dowel sections. The news holes had to line up with existing hardware. This let me rotate the work piece instead of the bit by putting it in my drill press and then putting the dowel segment in the chuck. The 1 inch dowel was too big to fit into a regular drill chuck directly. I don't have a lathe so this was the next best thing.

Too lightweight to hold anything. An absolute waste of money. Blew apart after first use.
