CAPACITEA Boxed Yunnan Loose Leaf Chinese Pu-er Pu-erh Tea, Earth and Full-Bodied, 125gram, Puer Tea

I do definitely like this tea, is good quality, not a premium one but close to it.

This tea is mediocre. It has a hint of real Pu Erh, so if you have never tried Pu Erh before you can try this tea to get an idea of the Pu Erh flavour. Other than that, it is jus a regular loose leaf tea.

We were fortunate enough to have some quality aged compressed Pu'er Tea cakes brought as a gift in from China which I really liked and bought this speculatively to see how it compared. The tea leaves are smaller and (to my mind at least) they only take 2 decent infusions compared with 4-5 infusions for the genuine vintage stuff. That said the price differential is enormous and as a non-expert I say there is nothing wrong with the tea. Taste wise it has a rich slightly sweet, caramel flavour but without the depth and 'maltiness' (for want of a better word!) that the vintage tea cake has. I have switched between this and the aged tea a few times and sometimes choose this when I just want a cuppa rather than a taste experience. HTH.

It is something I expected, taste and smell is not best, but for the price, it is good.
