I’m a sometimes Drywall DIYer, I’ve gotten good at all the basics and picked up some good skills along the way. What I can’t do with any good repeatable accuracy is the ‘cut with a tape measure’ skill. I’ve seen it done effortlessly by pros, but l every time I’ve tried with 10 & 12 ft sheets it’s a struggle and a disappointment. This thing really takes the hope and a prayer need out of the task, and gives me incredibly precise, repeatable results with no effort. I’m skeptical of the majority of these consumer level ‘time saving’ (mostly half-assed) products, but this one has really given me a quick way to get the job done, so I can get on with screwing something else up!

Fantastic tool for drywall cuts. Makes extremely clean, sharp cuts on drywall that snap perfectly and leave no bad edges. I find this works best when ripping sheets length wise or taking small amounts off the ends. For instance, our ceilings at home are dropped slightly. We have 7' 8" ceilings, which means 4" of drywall needs to be ripped off every single sheet to fit properly in the room. This is where this tool shines perfectly. It allows us to easily and quickly rip every single sheet, the exact same amount, with no variation and with perfect cuts. Much better than running your hand with a blade down the length of the sheet. Where this 'doesnt' shine is ripping deep cuts in a sheet, say more than 20" off the ends. The aluminum frame actually flexes slightly with longer spaced cuts and causes the tool to hang up/require more force, or for the cut to go slightly off course and not be dead straight. If youre making any cuts in the middle of a sheet or far off the ends, id say just go with the classic 48" Drywall T-Square and a sharp snap blade olfa knife. But anything 20" or less off the end youre referencing for your cut works beautifully with this tool. All around very happy with this purchase, this made easy and clean work of our reno/retrofit of an 80 year old home with dropped ceilings, and made the task of trimming every single sheet of drywall a LOT easier.

I Purchased this product for my home renovation project . I have about 170 sheets of drywall to install I am doing most of the work myself. This cutter is fast and accurate. I've been in construction for over 30 years I like to try different product that make my job easier. Some of them work and some don't. This drywall cutter works just as advertised. The best part is that you can make your cut put the cutter down and then snap the drywall sheet, clean cut everytime without using a drywall knife.
