4/20/26 Update: One of the dehumidifiers started leaking - badly. I woke up one morning and my floor was covered in water as it never shut off when it got full, and I tried for over a week to figure out the problem myself. I finally took off the back and the coils would ice over within 5 mins - so I knew it was beyond a DIY repair. Contacted HOGARLABS and was told they had a 2 year warranty (I purchased Sept 2024) and they sent me a detailed list of some photos and videos they needed. I sent it all over to them and without hesitation they replaced with a brand new unit! Shipped to my new house at no cost to me. The customer service was friendly, fast and super helpful. For this thing alone - I'm a customer for life with them. The other one is still pumping great at 18 months in, and the new one works like a charm. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I did a ton of research before deciding on this dehumidifier, and I’m so glad I chose this one! From the moment I set it up, it has worked flawlessly. I followed the recommendation to let it sit before turning it on, and setup was incredibly easy. I opted to use the drain option, which makes maintenance effortless—no need to constantly empty the water tank. I have two of these units covering a 2,200 sq. ft. area, and they perform amazingly well. They pull moisture from the air quickly, making the space feel much more comfortable. The difference in humidity levels is noticeable, and the air quality has improved significantly. One of the best features is how quiet it is. Even though it’s running efficiently in the background, it doesn’t create much noise, which is a huge plus. I've been using the HOGARLABS 50-Pint Dehumidifier for a month, and it is a top-tier performer. It effectively lowers the relative humidity in my basement, making the air feel much lighter and fresher.

UPDATE: It dawned in me to check the warranty, though I wasn't hopeful that would go well. The unit has a 2 year warranty, and I was about 1.5 years in. It took about a day between each communication, but communication was happening! They sent a replacement unit after I provided the requested info (proof of purchase, and a couple videos of unit) . Unfortunately, that unit came damaged so I thought the worst, but again contacted them. They apologized profusely and got another one out right away. It arrived quickly and was up in running in no time, function as designed. So, of you have an issue, know that their costumer service actually exists and will work to take care of you. Worked great... for 1 summer. Doesn't seem to be doing anything anymore. Drain hose is bone dry with 65% humidity in the house, despite the unit being set to 50%. The fan is blowing, but no dehumidification taking place.

We owned two of these and we bought a third as "backup" while it was on sale because we like them so much. They are incredibly quiet and do a great job. The only negative is that the water tank is very small, so if you have it in a humid environment, you'll be emptying it a lot. That said, we've had a couple of other units that had large tanks and good ratings, but they were much, much louder. The other units were so loud , it made watching television unbearable. These hum away in the background at a level that could actually be considered pleasant background noise. Our solution for the small tanks- we use the included tube to drain to a 2 gallon bucket that tucks behind the unit.

Worked great for a little less than a year. Then started freezing up. It comes with a two year warranty, but when I reached out to the Manufacturer, they have been radio silent and failed to respond. Buyer beware!

I bought this in June of 23 and it lasted almost exactly one year. I made a warranty claim and had to jump through numerous hoops. I was instructed to send pictures of the problem. ????? I sent pictures and was then instructed to send a video of the problem. ????? I sent a video and informed them that the humidity was going up instead of down. Evidently someone else looked at the problem and informed me that a new dehumidifier is on the way. In the meantime I was using a Honeywell 50 pint with a malfunctioning display which I kept using until it finally started freezing up just a few days ago. I started using this replacement two days ago. So far so good. It seems that all you can expect out of dehumidifiers nowadays is a year of service. Oddly enough I had an old Coldspot dehumidifier at my old home that was working like a champ after roughly 40 years! I would recommend finding older models if you want something that lasts. I mean REALLY old. You may have to pay a little more attention to them because they have a tendency to freeze up if you set them too low....but I had to empty that Coldspot twice a day. I shouldn't have left it at the old house. Update: 12/13/24 The replacement is malfunctioning. The touchpad performs no functions at all. The on/off works occasionally after unplugging and plugging in again. I can't set the humidity anymore. I have it set on 45% and it goes down into the high 30%'s. It doesn't shut off automatically anymore. If I want to turn it off....I need to unplug it. I don't know if I'll make another warranty claim because I have to dispose of these and right now I have two to dispose of. Very frustrating.

Great dehumidifier. I bought it about 2 years ago and it does an amazing job. I have to hang my clothes to dry inside my appartment and it manages to keep the humidity at a reasonable level even during hot humid summer days. The container is not that big so you'll have to refill it a few times during the day if its very humid inside, but its a good sturdy appliance and I haven't had any issues with it yet! Its not that big and is easy to move from one room to the other (the handle that you can unfold on top + the wheels helps) but is still very efficient for its size.

This is great value. It's super quiet compared to the one I've replaced. Draws out moisture from the air nicely. I like I can set the desired humidity level. My old one was just normal or dry. The tank isn't huge but fine to dry out the cabin over the weekend before emptying. It's really only about as loud as my little bar fridge which is amazing. I like that I can keep it on continuous running also with the hose drain.

We were using a Noma dehumidifier for several years to control winter moisture in our Southwester Ontario home. It was piped to drain and ran automatically at set humidity level. The Noma unit ran very loud. It had to shut off if in the same room, and frequently overnight when guest slept in nearby rooms. Noise was the primary driver to replace this unit. The Hogarlabs dehumidifier appears to solve our noise concerns. It runs at a fraction of the noise level. No problems having it run continuously, if in the same room or one of the adjacent bedrooms. The Hogarlabs unit is approx. 25% smaller than the Noma unit is physical size. It has less intrusive and obvious presence in the room. Our new Hogarlab dehumidifier is working as expected and designed, set to our required humidity level. Easy to understand control panel. Piped/hose drain option. Perfect physical size. Low noise generation. It has been in operation for 2-3 weeks thus far and no concerns. Really hoping it continues to operate, problem free, for many years. UPDATE - 6 months later - Continuous operation on Auto mode, set to 45% and all is well. Gravity drain is awesome. Very quiet running.
