Dyna Glo DGPH201BR 48,000 BTU Premium Hammered Bronze Patio Heater

Just received this heater and completed setup in about an hour. The directions were clear and well written. The packaging did its job and there was no damage. I’ve owned several of this type of heater (all costing several times more) and the Dyna-Glo is as well if not better made. Plus it really puts out heat. It fired up right away once the gas line had filled (which takes a little time). Once I heard gas flowing I lit the pilot and held the control knob in for 30 seconds. Then I turned the knob until the burner lit. At first the knob only turned about half way. I let it burn for a few minutes and then the knob could be turned to the maximum.

I love the finish; the product was also well wrapped in styrofoam to prevent damage. I added the sand which also has signifcantly helped stabilize the product. The starter and burner unit are great and easy to use. The frustrating thing was how long it took to remove the blue plastic coating on all the reflector pieces (in excess of 1 hour!). With the right tools, the rest took 15 minutes to set up, but that plastic coating was infuriating......

This is a very nice patio heater and it was the “star” of our October Fest party. The unit starts without problems and it keeps an area of approximately 200 square feet nicely warm. The wheels are very helpful to move the unit around. Also, a big plus is the customer service from the manufacturer. We had a small problem after using the unit for several times but after contacting the customer service the problem was solved very quickly. We highly recommend the product that is very reasonable priced, of very good quality and as I sad comes with excellent customer service if you ever run into any problems.

Received this item and assembled and conducted a test run on that date. Followed the instructions but getting the heater lit was difficult but I was eventually successful. Over the next few days two more attempts met the same results, difficulty in lighting the heater but eventually there was success. Today I again decided to utilize the heater and again was very difficult to light. After changing propane tanks three time it eventually lit but ran for 3-4 minutes and the flames finally went out. I switched propane tanks without any success so I connected the propane tanks to another heating devise and they ignited immediately. I may have a lemon but this experience has been a big pain in the ---- and I am not interested in going through it again. I will return and am requesting a refund.

This is a very nice, well-made patio heater. Like most tall LP heaters, it is VERY thirsty — more than I expected. I’m guessing 5 hours to a 20-lb LP tank when running at full heat setting. Not this product’s ‘fault’, just surprising to me. On wind-free days, this heater shines. It warms about a 8-foot circle. Nice. When it’s windy, the heater’s height means a lot of the heat gets carried away with the breeze. The finish on this heater was flawless. Assembly was straightforward, but does require some aptitude. Packaging was great, protecting the bits perfectly.

Been through a bunch of the ~$150 patio heaters including firesense,az,and now these. These style of heaters are all difficult to transport due to the fragile nature of some of the pieces, but we thought Dyna-Glo was pretty close to getting this right for the price point. One piece neck is a great improvement over the Firesense models. Welded base arms were a plus. Good ignition and slightly more heat than comparable models (EDIT: after one month and about 3 uses we are having trouble with more than half of the units ignitions) . Where did it go wrong? There is one tiny screw holding the top to the neck that easily was stripped and bent the metal on the neck so it can no longer sit flush. (out of the 7 ordered, we had 2 with this problem after on use). The wheels after one roll on concrete literally disintegrated. The base arms could be slightly higher quality as there is some lean / bend to the pole due to the sturdiness of the arms (common among others). If these problems were alleviated, dyna-glo would have a winner in the category.

Easy to assemble, good quality, looks and works great. I was able to use it on an outdoor patio with a roof over hang. Had 12" clearance above it and the heat really deflects down and out and doesn't escape above the metal ring deflector....didn't bother the vinyl siding ceiling. Would never used in an enclosed area for safety reasons.

I would like to give this device 4 and 1/2 stars. It works great and provides the warmth as advertised. I've had other, less expensive devices and this one is much better. It's easy to ignite, the warmth is evenly distributed and everything is sturdy. So why not 5 stars? That's because it's not easy to assemble. Well, all of these devices are probably difficult but this has very sharp edges on the top reflector. It's easy to cut yourself when putting together the three rather large components of the reflector. It seems that some additional thought on how to make a reflector that is easy to assemble would have been a good investment by this company. So does that deserve penalizing them a full star? Couldn't they get a 5 star review with an explanation about the reflector? The answer is no and that's because of their customer service. Early in my use of this patio heater I had an important question about its safety and operation. I called customer service. They answered the call promptly but it soon became clear that the customer service representative knew nothing about this product. They had to consult a manual (fine) but they were unfamiliar with the manual and they hemmed and hawed about what I should do with respect to my issue. It seems that if you are going to provide technical support you should be familiar with the product. I am not unhappy with this product and I would buy it again. Just a little bit better customer support and safer assembly and this patio heater would earn 5 stars.

Loving this heater - it makes sitting outside on the chillier summer nights so pleasant - extending our summer by a month!

I bought 2 to help extend outdoor social distancing time further into the cold weather. Very easy to assemble by someone who has hardly ever assembled anything. Looks great. No scratches. Easy to move to different locations. The heat is fabulous - enjoy the flexibility to change the intensity. One lights perfectly but the other has not from the beginning. (We hear the igniter clicking but the pilot doesn't light. We light it manually.) Otherwise, I would have given a 5 star rating. Tip for new buyers - the first time you light it (maybe more often) you must turn the control to pilot and continue to depress it for 2 minutes to release the air before depressing the ignitor (or manually using a bbq lighter) to light the pilot. I noticed several customers have had similar trouble. It seems it is time for Dyna-Glo to fix that and earn more 5 star ratings. I would be thankful to receive a new one.

I initially gave this a 5 star rating because it looks good and is solid and puts off a lot of heat. When it first arrived the ignitor did not work, but we called the manufacturer and customer service was very helpful and shipped us out a new head assembly right away, which we reinstalled and it works perfectly. However, after 6 weeks, the thing stopped working altogether - we cannot get any gas coming to the ignitor and cannot start it manually. We reached out to the manufacturer and were sent a new regulator hose, which we installed, with no result. We have no idea why it is not working and we will be connecting with manufacturer again, but for now this is just a big piece of metal garbage that annoys me to look at. There are clearly design flaws in this product.
