We wanted a restaurant quality coffee maker that did not require plumbing. We found it and couldn't be happier. You basically fill the machine with two full pots of water that get heated as hot as you need it. On the next full pot pour, one pot of hot water is pushed to the coffee grounds chamber. So you can make two pots fairly quickly. It takes about 20 minutes to heat subsequent full pot pours. On our first pot with pre-grounded Dunkin beans, we just happen to hit Dunkin that day before the machine arrived. See picture - we couldn't tell the difference in look. We use a bit of sugar and creamer. The taste was almost exactly the same. We went ahead and bought a burr grinder. The coffee taste just like the Dunkin stores. Now we can have our favorite coffee every morning without the 45 minute drive in each direction.This is perfect for us. Some things to consider. There is no brew button or ready button. The next pot starts when you put the next full pot of water in. The machine keeps the coffee in the pipeline hot by turning on periodically to reheat. The machine gets brewing noise similar to Keurig machine makes. If you are a light sleeper with a bed next to the machine, you probably want to unplug (there is no on/off switch) the machine at night or when not in use. It does take 20 minutes to heat the water from a cold start. If you add water too soon, the water going through the coffee grinds may not be hot enough. None of this affects us as our bedrooms are away from the kitchen and we like the machine always ready. The water in your home pipes are full of chemicals and minerals like calcium. These are not good for the machine. The pipelines can get very hot and cause deposit and build-up inside the lines. Reading other user feedback, you should consider using filter water from any reverse osmosis sink line you have, refrigerator filtered water or bottled water. Or frequently (once a week to month) purge your lines with vinegar and water. The burner also does not automatically turn off. So you have to remember to turn it off when you are done. Small inconvenience for perfect coffee without breaking the bank.

Great coffeemaker that delivers a good pot of coffee quickly. After 20 years+ (daily residential use) our last Bunn VP17-1 didn't owe us a thing so my husband and I decided we wanted the very same model. I gave it 5 stars for value due to the terrific longevity of our last coffeemaker. Service was very fast and the coffeemaker arrived without damage. Happy customer.

This is a terrific coffee maker. It makes wonderful coffee, quickly. I bought this coffee maker because I was looking for a coffee maker that did not contain plastic, and while this comes with a plastic coffee basket you can purchase a stainless basket for this machine, which I did. I’ve included the link below. I did not want to drink coffee every day with plastic leeching into the brew, so this was essential for me. This machine is built to last, it does not have auto shutoff or any fancy features, you can either get an outlet timer to auto shut if that’s what you are looking for. After reading the reviews, some people recommended getting a funnel tip for the stainless basket. ( it simply screws onto the bottom of coffee basket) I got the funnel tip, it was only about five dollars. It brews flavorful coffee each time, it is not weak it is a perfect pot of coffee. The coffee maker is on the large size, but fits under my kitchen cabinet. You fill the water from the top front of machine, so you just have to make sure this portion is not under the cabinet. Some reviews mention over flow issues, I have never had a problem once. I did buy the bunn coffee filters so of course they fit perfectly. Yes, some things must be purchased in addition to the machine, such as the coffee pot, and stainless basket if you want no plastic, but this machine seems like it will outlast any other coffee maker I’ve ever had. I know this brand, and this coffee maker is what they use in diners and they are made to last. There's a reason restaurants everywhere use Bunn, it makes a good pot of coffee in 3 mins! Includes the cleaning wire and literally takes seconds to do. Hard water or filtered water, the coffee still tastes great. No water lines needed, just fill the water tank and plug it in. Also comes with a starter pack of paper filters.The only downside is it doesn't come with the pot. You have to buy it separately which is available on Amazon and is very affordable.
