Buy it! I saw a hair steamer on YouTube and honestly haven’t heard of such a thing until that point. I knew my natural hair needed a boost in the moisture department and products alone weren’t the answer. I kept coming back to the reviews and changing my mind whenever I saw a bad one. I finally decided to take the leap and try it and I’m so glad I did! One of the reviews mentioned that it did not work right out of the box. It will certainly appear that way if you don’t give it time to heat up and begin producing the steam. It takes about 4-5 min. Once it starts this little thing can go! It produces steam consistently until the water level drops below the hose (about 10-15 min, maybe less, but I didn’t count). It does get a little hot under there, but it’s not bad. Keep a towel with you to cover your ears if you get uncomfortable and to manage the dripping. There are a couple things I don’t like, but I can live with. One, the hood does not fold in, which makes it difficult to store the steamer. Two, the plastic is a bit low on the quality scale. It’s a more flexible plastic than hard, durable plastic. Again, not deal breakers, but I did want to mention that. My hair felt so soft and moisturized post treatment! I washed my hair first, applied leave in conditioner, and steamed. You do what works for you, but that’s what I did in case someone is wondering if you should wash first. I have no regrets and highly recommend it.

When I read the reviews for this product, I almost didn’t want to buy it. I decided to give it a chance and I love it. It is easy to assemble and if you follow the instruction you shouldn’t have any problems. With that being said, it does have a few drawbacks. It is not adjustable but if you find the right chair and table height you can make it work. When I first started steaming the back of my hair wasn’t getting steamed. I realized I needed to sit further into the steamer hood than at salons. I am a 4B/C naturalista. I part my hair into four sections and bobby pin them up towards the crown of my head with my deep conditioner/hair mask on. After letting the steamer warm up and produce steam (about 3-5 minutes), I sit under the hood for 19 minutes (any longer than that and it yells at me that the water is too low). Then I cover my head in a plastic cap wait for the machine to cool down a little (roughly 5 minutes) add more water and repeat. Honestly my hair is nicely steamed after the 19 minute session but I’m just extra. Also, the way to add water is a little awkward. The directions say to add from the top and pull out this stopper but that takes too long and I am impatient. So I get a pouring cup with a spout and just fill the cup to the max line while it is detached from the holding spot but still within the apparatus. I love this product but you will have to figure out a way to work with it. I hope this helps.

And I would have to say yes. you may have to do a little work. you know getting in the water and fixing. finding a good place to sit, but it works.

This is a great, inexpensive, hand-free hair steamer. It works wonders! I will say that this is the second brand of hair steamers that I've used. My first brand and my favorite is the Huetiful hair steamer. Nothing ... I mean nothing works like that one. I believe the Red Pro Therapy Steamer is a good alternative to that brand. I use it about once a month and I can tell a significant difference in my hair since using it. When I use the Red Pro steamer my hair is softer after washing and easier to comb through while conditioning. When I don't use it .. well that's a different story :)

It is Very Cheaply made! The Hood is NOT adjustable. The Hood is NOT big enough for all sizes heads which means it Only gets part of your hair NOT all! U would have to gather the hair up on top of your head! It ONLY steams your hair for ONLY 15mins then cuts off. So when U try to do a 2nd round of 15 mins to make it a full 30. The steam got So Hot it was burning my Friend so I had to hold the hood up away from her. There are 3 holes @ the top to circulate how much steam flow U would like but when I opened them I felt like my hair wasn't getting the best benefit from the steamer then. I'm a Natural Hair Woman that needs 30 FULL mins. TRUST ME!!! Save your $$$. Go on Samsclub.com & buy the Professional Salon one for $187.00 Think Long-term!!!! It's Definitely worth the $$$ U will spend. I buy ALL THE TIME on Amazon. I LOVE Amazon. Just Not this Product b/c I didn't feel I was getting my $$$ worth & that it will be breaking in a year or less. Also, I just returned it & they did not give me my full refund back @ the price listed . They shorted me $9.27 so I'm calling now.

Seats hair well… gets pretty hot… it does run out of water pretty quickly. My previous one had a bigger water canister. It’s does give me a solid 10minutes.

Purchased despite some of the negative reviews. It arrived on time and securely in a box. No damage to the steamer or box. The steamer does not adjust, so you will have to put on books or something if you are tall or sit on a shorter chair/stool. After about 15 minutes the water ran out, but it makes a noise to let you know it is almost out of water. I just refilled if I wanted longer time. You can adjust the 3 vents at the top to increase/decrease the amount of steam under the hood. Some water did drip a bit, but I think that was because I refilled the water without draining the condensation (there is a drip valve to empty). I used ozone while steaming since most recommended it. It was easy to put together and would definitely recommend. If you have problems with it send it back, don't complain if you haven't tried to get the issue resolved. Amazon is pretty good about getting the refund or contacting the sender to get a refund or replacement. I did purchase the 2 year service warranty in case anything happens to it. Hope this helps.

This machine it totally worth it. I have used on face and my hair. It was a little awkward to put together, but not hard. I also had to figure out how to position chair to fit under the hair steamer. I realized the nozzle rotates for the face. Once you figure out how to position it you will be pleased. It puts out a great amount of steam and feels so great. The only negative comment I have is that I wish it held more water. However, it probably wouldn't be good to sit under it any longer than one full tank. It also beeps prior to using all the water in the container. Although, not required I used purified water instead of tap water. I would like to ensure there aren't any water/chemical deposits that will reduce the life of the machine in the future.

Everything works perfectly and as expected! It’s without any doubt a good quality product. The water tank last at least a good 20 minutes. No dripping water !

I have had this for a few years now and was surprised that I was asked to review. I guess it's never too late. This is definitely a good investment for your hair. It never deceived me to this day as it keeps working. Since the beginning of the year, I started using distilled water and less mineral deposits to clean. I primarily use it for my hair when I deep condition or have a hair mask.

I have bleached hair and my natural hair is pretty dark for a while my hair completely stop growing but this completely changed that I always recommend to anyone who compliments my hair (just make sure to get out the hood carefully so hot water doesn’t spill on ur back)

This machine dripped steam from around the rim and dripped onto my back, causing the skin to peel off of my back immediately. Months later, this has left a permanent scar on my back.

Havent used item as of yet but it looks really cool and easy to set up. Cant wait to use
