We eat dinners in the family room while watching a movie and sit on an old couch with a coffee table that raises to table height. I am 77 years old and sitting on the worn and flattened cushions of the couch was causing pain in my hips so that it was difficult to walk for a bit when I got up from the couch. By the end of a 2-hour movie, my legs were uncomfortable, beginning to ache, and felt like the blood supply was cut off from them because the couch cushion flattened so that the frame of the couch was hitting the back of my thigh.Since we haven't found time to get out to find a replacement couch, I turned to Amazon to find a temporary solution. I ordered this "butt cushion" in addition to 4 others in hopes that one of them would relieve the discomfort of sitting on our couch. I wanted something firm enough to overcome the flattening of the old couch cushions, but, it trying the different cushions, I found that shape and size is also important. Since I weigh 112 lbs., most of the cushions I ordered were firm enough, but the support offered by each was different. Some flattened after a short time, and some just weren't very comfortable because of the shape.This cushion is more expensive than the others I tried, but saving money at the expense of less comfort wasn't an option. I have been using this cushion every night for over a week, and no longer have the hip pain when I get up from the couch. The leg discomfort is also gone. The 4 other cushions have been returned. Since I weigh 112 lbs., I can't vouch for how this cushion would hold up to more weight, but it works for me and I am happy with it.UPDATE 07/30/24:I have been using this "butt cushion" every evening for at least 3 hours for the last 2 months, and I wouldn't want to do without it. In this time, it has not flattened at all, is very supportive, and perfectly fits the contour of my butt and thighs so I no longer get pains in my hips and legs from sitting on our old couch. You would think that finding a suitable cushion to sit on would be an easy task. In my experience of trying different cushions, I found that the perfect cushion is a very personal thing. Not only does it have to supply a comfortable firmness for support, but it must conform to your individual "butt contour". It is often necessary to try more than one to find the one that is perfect for you. This cushion is all that for me.UPDATE 12/16/24:I have now been using this cushion on my couch to sit on for over 6 months. It is still as supportive as it was when new, and has not flattened at all. Since using it, I have not had pains in my hips or legs after sitting on the couch. The cushion is so comfortable, we have put off getting a new couch. I suppose this is the only down side to having a comfortable cushion to sit on.I hope this review was helpful for you.

This is the fourth one I’ve bought. After a disc herniation in my tailbone, I need a donut seat like this in the car and on hard chairs; however, I use a different seat for my desk chair, which I need to be more structured for 8 hour stretches of time.It really helps with the pain I have by avoiding instigating the pain too much. It doesn’t avoid all of the pain, but it does a good job.The material is soft, which is pleasant, and the cushioning is also very soft and moldable. It will accommodate your anatomy. It’s comfortable to sit on for hours at a time. That said, I would not recommend something this cush/pliant for something you’re going to sit in for more than 3-4 hours or something that needs to be more ergonomic, like your work desk.The moldability of its shape, since there’s no structure to it, makes it great for car seats because it will bend to fit. I can see it being good for camp chairs too.The pillow is super comfortable, but it does degrade with use. If you use it all the time, you’ll need to replace it pretty often (4-6 months), which isn’t great because of the price, but that’s just the cost of not being in pain. If you only use it maybe an hour a day, it’ll last more like 9-12 months. Eventually it’ll just feel like you’re sitting on a thin cushion and it’ll smush out when you sit on it.I’ve bought three gray ones and I like them well enough. I’m trying out the black color now, and I don’t have much to comment on at this point. The gray color is perfectly fine.The seat is light enough to carry around pretty easily, but it’s an awkward shape (all donut seats are), so it’s awkward to carry around.There are no adjustable features. It’s just a pillow, but I like it a lot.I highly recommend this specific cushion, especially if you have a tailbone injury. I do think that it’s worth the price.

I got this for my busband who has Lewy Body Dementia to sit on while on the couch. Very comfortable for him. He's lost alot of weight so he needs the extra cushion. Hits all the pressure points, no sores anywhere. With the help of a walker, gets up off the couch easily. I would recommend this for anyone who sits alot to be more comfortable. It's removable cover is great just to throw in the wash. He uses it in the car, different chairs, and takes it when we go on vacation. He's not it as much pain with it. It took me 4 tries before I found this right cushion ❤️

Cushion is very thick and wide. I have a small build and the fit is a little bigger than expected. Support is great but without a pillow on my back to support me, it feels awkward to sit in it. I can’t really say it’s effective for back pain but I would sit in this over a hard chair any day. Quality is super nice too - been using it for 4 months now and it is still pretty firm.

I work full time remotely and have been using this alongside the lumbar support and foot rest from the same company. Together they've made an enormous difference to my everyday comfort, physical health, and productivity.The seat cushion fits perfectly on my office chair and its contours align nicely with my body. Firmness is wonderful, being not TOO much but dense enough to provide plenty of support while having just the right amount of give to feel almost plush while seated on it. The shape and materials disperse pressure evenly and even help me to maintain a better seated posture.I have a lot of pain from musculoskeletal and nerve issues in my back and spine and this helps so much as I sit at my desk throughout the day as well as just being comfy in general.

Received my cushion seat today and was genuinely excited, hoping I had finally found a reputable company offering a solution for long hours of driving discomfort. I drive a Cadillac Escalade and immediately noticed the back support is actually very good and well designed.However, like many other brands I’ve tried, the thigh support area is simply too thick and elevated for someone of my build. I am 5’7” and 138 lbs, so unless I lower my seat significantly, the raised edges press into the underside of my thighs and create discomfort over time.I believe manufacturers often overlook drivers who are not very tall or heavy enough to compress the cushion edges naturally. A tapered or more gradual front-thigh design would make a tremendous difference by reducing pressure points and allowing a more natural gap between the legs and seat edge.This product has strong potential because the lumbar/back support is excellent. With a more ergonomic front-edge design for smaller-framed drivers, it could truly stand out from the competition.

Well made, very comfortable, especially, for seating long periods at a time. I like the size of it cause it fits the entire base of my chair and the quality seems top notch. This cushion spells relief for my lower back, and I've tried several different seat cushions.

I have chronic pain from a previous back injury. I had a grade 2 strain on my left hip and lower back. I since have horrible pain when I sit for too long. This cushion has allowed me to game longer after my injury! I believe it is well made too and is very comfy for me. I am 5”3’ and 135 lbs and it fits me well (maybe a lil too big but it’s fine). I can’t compare it to other brands as this is the first cushion I have bought. It does leave a gap on my gaming chair, but it doesn’t bother me since I always have a blanket cushioning my back.It did not eliminate my pain fully but it does help me go longer sitting! If I go on a car trip then I will definitely bring this along too. I have used it for 2 weeks now. One of my cats loves to sleep on it too lol

I finally found a cushion that is supportive. Most cushions that I bought did not really provide much lower back lumbar support. This cushion supports the butt in that the two ends curl slightly upwards. This design is ingenious as it mimics the shape of our behinds. The Cushion does not sink all the way to the bottom. It is relatively dense to support my weight. It is not cheap but it provides relief and that is worth its price. It also relieves tailbone fatigue.
