I just need a signal wire with no voltage to connect when my 12v power source is enabled.** A: The com/NC/no is completely isolated from the DC+/In side. You can use this relay to control your 12v power source. **Q: does the board have diode protection for the relay contacts in case of arc reversal from inductive loads switching off?** A: Absolutely NOT! The "diode" protection on this board is standard, which is to say that it's across the COIL of the relay so that back EMF that such relay coils produce will not be imposed on the triggering circuitry. Your question is with regard to relay contact protection which is a totally different thing. Manufacturers cannot put diodes across the contacts for this reason: A diode placed across contacts that are wired to A.C. voltages will destroy itself. Even D.C. will destroy the diode unless strict polarity is observed. If you understand when a diode conducts and when it doesn't, this will make sense. When it comes to relays and back-emf protection, Google the subject. You'll see right away that protection diodes are wired across the COIL - never across the contacts themselves. There are some good capacitor protection schema for the contact side of but this comes at a price -- not with these little module boards. All that said, I don't worry about these relay contacts. The whole module is cheap anyway. I would never press these into 10A service. Personally, 5A-7A is my upper switching limit with these relays. **Q: Can this be triggered with trigger low and input from the n/o of another relay? when the other relay activates the n/o will be connected to ground** A: Voltage must go low to trigger. Works great for over 3 years now on the first bike I installed it ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect relay for Honeywell Vista 20p alarmtriggers *by S***L on February 10, 2026* Beautiful little relay. Connected it to my Honeywell Ademco Vista 20p alarm panel to provide a dry contact to close a trigger that will activate interior/exterior lights upon alarm activation. Took me a while to figure out that for some reason trigger 17 on the panel would not activate the relay. I think it has something to do with the amperage associated with each trigger line(they are different). Use trigger 18 in default configuration (not normally low) and set jumper on relay to low. Connect trigger 18 wire to the "in" terminal, DC+ to 12v hot (red), and DC- to ground (black). Connect your contacts on the trigger out side (mine was normally open for a Lutron radiora2 system). Test your setup by manually activating the trigger: 4-Digit Installer Code + [#] + [718] You should see a red LED turn on. Deactivate the trigger with: 4-Digit Installer Code + [#] + [818] Don't do any fancy jumping across the DC/trigger terminals for this configuration, as some other reviewers have suggested...trust me, I tried them all and nothing worked until I switched from trigger 17 to trigger 18.
