Or attempt to cover the bottom of the suction cup as much as possible, that should work OK as long as your phone and holder wheigh less than a pound. What they failed to tell you in the description is that this requires a 1 inch piece of tape for every quarter pound. So you would need 4 inches of tape for 1 pound.
