This product has the same name as another (741801 aftermarket range...) yet the other is priced at 25.49. is one more specific for the bluestar range?

i wouldn't think so if they have the same part number. They look very similar. When I needed to replace the spark ignitor on my Bluestar rangetop, this version was the only one available. Replaced back in 2016 and so far so good. Can't say the same for the ignitor modules though. Had to replace them several times and now I just use a candle lighter I pick up at the dollar store.

The screw that holds it on i cant get off. Phillips head striped. Any how to remove the sctrew ideas????

Try soaking the screw in WD-40 overnight to break down any build up, wipe down the head and then take a rubber band and lay it flat across the stripped head. Push the screw driver through the rubber band to the slot and try turning. The rubber band, in theory, should fill the void and give a grip to screw driver. If this doesn’t work, try a vice grip around the head or get a an easy out bit from Home Depot. Hope this helps.

Why is this "aftermarket" igniter double the price of the one sold by Bluestar?

Works with blue star RNB range.

I have a blue star RNB 36” range purchased in 2010. This igniter is a perfect replacement. Mounted in burner using same screw and existing orange wire. Up and running in 60 seconds.

Would like to give 4.5 stars

Would like to give 4.5 stars. If you order from BlueStar you pay about 25% more + shipping, but you get new screws. The screws do see a lot of heat so new screws would be appreciated. But, they work perfectly and no more annoying tic tic tic of my already lit burners.

Perfect Fit for Bluestar Rangetop

Perfect replacement for OEM igniter. Comes with proper Molex cable for easy installation. Took only a couple of minutes and works great.

Easy to install

Easy to install but having issues with getting it to ground properly and it won't work consistently. We purchased two units (1 as back up) and since the unit won't ground properly we have decided to install the second one. Hope it works correctly.
