I like this design and quality so much, that I bought a second burner; to replace the aging burner system in my old Kamado Ceramic Cooker! The first of these burners I got; works great with my 22' wok, (which sits just next to my Kamado.) The burner is great, the ignitor is perfect, the regulator seems quite simplified, but the hose is a bit on the lower quality end of the spectrum. I can't complain, i just recommend using higher quality hose clamps than those supplied. I actually purchased 3 of these burners. The first was defective and in hindsight, I should have tested it much more carefully, the very first time I tried it. Please, please, please, when lighting for the first time, take extra care to make sure that all nearby surfaces are non-combustible and that you are well away from any possible flare up.

The product is what was described, wife like the product and use often

This is a nice burner and hard to beat for the price. I converted it to natural gas by tossing the regulator and drilling out the orifices - not hard to do if you're slightly handy and can use the internet to figure out your drill sizes. The inner burner is about 12000 btu, and the outer one about 25000btu. The very nice thing about this burner is that it is in effect 2 burners - the large one outside and the small one inside. If the valve is turned down it sends gas only to the small burner. If it's high it sends it to both. The result is that you can adjust it thru a very wide range of heats - much more than if it were a single burner turned up or down on its own. The auto-ignite seems to work well. Nothing to complain about for my application. But if you do intend to use this with propane and an OPD tank (most of them) the connection to the tank on the regulator should have an extension or spud on it to work with the OPD tank, but it doesn't. Some of the reviews mention this as a problem, and it would be if that is how I wanted to use it.

Gets 1 star because computer will not let me put in 0 stars. The only good thing about it. When I received the initial order it came in 3 days but the burner control was broken, the gas knob shattered and the entire end of the control unit bent in. The good part, Amazon replaced it within 3 days. Thats the only good part, Amazon is fast and does what it says it will do when an item is not satisfactory. Back to the burner. The replacement unit does not work, at all. It initially lit one time, burned for about 1 minute, then began to burn back thru the air intake and the burner went out while the gas continued to burn within the "handle" of the unit. Shut off the bottle to get the fire out. After that it would not light, also a quality/safety concern, the hose on the replacement unit has no clamps, fits snug on the regulator and burner but it is not clamped, even with the poor clamps that were on the first unit. This is is without t a doubt, he worst quality item I have ever received from Amazon.

Item is very useful for outdoor cooking. Puts out high heat nicely.

Beware this product. As other reviewers have stated, it does not mate with a normal US propane tank. I ordered one and it wouldn't give any gas from the tank. Thinking I had a bad unit, I returned it and the replacement suffered the same fate. I think this is more than a faulty regulator, but rather general incompatibility. I was able to take the regulator off and hook it up to another hose and the unit worked great. Nice hot flame and pretty good variable settings. The one bad thing is that there isn't much of a middle ground on this unit. You are either in Dante's inferno with both rings going or a "keep warm" setting with just the smaller ring. The middle ground is touchy at best. Good if you're doing something that requires a lot or a little heat, but not something in between. I bought this unit to convert my offset charcoal smoker to propane. The smaller ring would get the smoker to 185-190 degrees and the next notch up got it to 260+, but nothing I did got it to the magical 225 degrees that I was looking for. I'm giving the product two stars because for a burner, it is OK. For the whole package, it is misleading as they are selling the entire unit, but not all of it works out of the box. You'll spend about as much as this unit costs in modifications to get it to mate with a normal 20 lb propane tank.
