Nesco Deluxe Food VS-12 Vacuum Sealer, 130 Watts, Kit Bags & Viewing Lid, Compact, Silver

A lot of mixed reviews; however, for our family, this unit worked perfectly for sous vide sealing / cooking purposes. Only once did it not seal completely. We just ran it through again on the manual selection and it did the job. I haven't had this long enough to know if it will hold up after a year's time. My son was impressed with the machine and thought it was a very high end machine offering ease of use compared to a different brand he purchased a few years back that didn't have as many options as this unit offers.

We've gone through a few vaccum sealers in the last decade. Our son likes to find new creative ways to destroy them. We purchased this model because it had good reviews and it was a good fit for us. The locking handle was a huge upgrade on getting bags to seal on the first try. When sealing moist or weird shaped items the pulse valcuum with manual seal works really good. Overall we've had a great experience with this so far. It's about average size for a sealer. The vaccuum seal is really good in terms of getting the air out before it starts to seal. It has a double line seal which was also an upgrade for us and I think in the fifty or so bags I've made so far I've only screwed up 1 and that was my own fault.

I purchased my Nesco in 2019.....a happy user for the last 7 years with NO PROBLEMS what so ever. Prior to the Nesco I went through 4 sealers that everyone believes is the best. BIG mistake. Also, seems everyone complains about the bags. I've been using the same third party bags I found on Amazon since the beginning realizing the bags it came with needed more "stretch". Have never purchased brand name bags for my Nesco. I use it frequently and love it. It is a bit slower than most but as long as it seals perfectly, I don't mind at all. If it does stop working I'd love to purchase another one....they're great!!!

So far so good. The sealer works great without any problems and t's simple to use. Only problem is the bags came dirty. I kept them because they are dirty on the outside but it's not what you want to see when working with food. I have to keep cleaning them.

This sealer works very well and their customer service is amazing. I've had it for 3 years and I used it a LOT. It is a trusty workhorse. Recently, it stopped pulling a vacuum. I contacted Nesco and asked for advice on troubleshooting the problem. They thought it was the sealing gaskets, so they sent me replacements for FREE. I was well past the warranty period and they didn't even ask when I bought the unit. They just sent me the gaskets. Now, it works like new. I highly recommend this sealer. It's rare to find a company that stands behind their products like that. I would 100% recommend the VS-12 if you're in the market for a vacuum sealer.

I've had two or three FoodSaver vacuum sealers over the years, but when my last one died, I considered buying a Nesco model—especially when I saw the prices on FoodSavers. I do own other Nesco products, so it didn't seem like a gamble. This Nesco Deluxe Food VS-12 sealer seemed to have all the features I wanted, and at a much better price point, so I pulled the trigger and made the purchase. I would say the build quality is better than my previous FoodSaver models. It appears to be very sturdy, yet fairly compact. When you're ready to seal, it locks very securely with the handle (Nesco instructs you not to store it with the handle in the locked position, to avoid deforming the gasket). I found the lock to be better than FoodSaver's. There is storage for a roll of bags, and the built-in cutter operates easily. In the rear of the machine there are tabs to wrap the cord around when storing. You have your choice of variable settings: dry/moist/double seal and normal or gentle pressure. And there are several modes: Vacuum and Seal, Manual Seal, Cannister, Marinade, and a Pulse function. Although it does not come with an accessory hose for cannisters (you can order one), the one I kept from my previous FoodSaver is compatible and works just fine. I have had no problems getting bags to seal. I really like the digital display that counts down as your contents are vacuumed and sealed. All brands of vacuum seal bags seem to be compatible, as are other brands of storage cannisters. The drip tray is not removeable like the FoodSaver models are, but is easy to wipe clean. I hunt, and I seal and freeze game that I've processed, portioning jerky, etc.. I also use it for cooking meat using the sous vide method. Great for marinating and for storing food in cannisters. Also useful for protecting non-food items, such as Sterling silver, from oxidizing and tarnishing. I've even sealed and stored a heavy wool shirt using large pleated bags in order to keep moths from getting to it. My only minor complaint is that it did not include an accessory hose. Other than that, I am extremely satisfied with the quality, the function, and of course, the value. I'm glad I purchased the Nesco model, and I definitely recommend it.

I bought this as I was losing to many 'family pack' meats from the grocery or COSTCO to freezer burn. It's only the two of us, and I'd buy those family size packages only to use a few today, then lose the rest in the freezer. Especially with as expensive as food is today, a real bummer. I bought the VS-12P from Amazon, and it's a game changer for me. Well-built, easy to use, intelligent controls, EZ/PZ to use. Now I can break up these bulk packages to meal-size portions and vacpack and freeze with no worries. This stuff can now be put back just like canned goods, pasta, flour, etc. in the freezer until needed. Thaws easy in a cold water sink and comes out as fresh as the day I packed it. This is one of those 'WHY didn't I get one of these sooner' buys. It saves you having to go to the store every few days for fresh meat and produce, it's real unspoken advantage. Now I can go once a week or less. THAT's a huge time savings I never realized till I bought this. This is a great product, and I'd buy one or recommend one in a heartbeat.

I bought this vacuum sealer because I was fed up with cheaper machines failing me, and this one really impressed. It feels really sturdy and works exactly as I need it to. The fact that it has space inside to store the bag roll is a nice bonus — makes it neater and more convenient. What I like: - The build is solid: no flimsy parts, it gives me confidence it’ll last. - Good value for the price — you get a strong performing machine without paying over-the-top. - The built-in storage for the bag roll is a thoughtful touch — keeps everything together. - It handles a variety of uses in my kitchen smoothly. One minor thing to watch: - When using the automatic mode with liquid-rich foods, it’s too strong (i.e., the suction or seal may cause a mess). I found that switching to the manual mode for liquids works much better. - That said, the automatic mode is fine for dry items or standard sealing jobs. Verdict: If you’re looking for a vacuum sealer that’s built tough, offers smart features (like internal roll storage), and gives you solid performance — this one ticks the boxes. I’m giving it 5 stars because it consistently delivers what I need.

Es súper fácil de usar. Ya he empacado varias cosas; el vacío que hace es eficiente, la cuchilla integrada corta la bolsa muy bien. Definitivamente lo recomiendo.
