HDP6 Passive Bookshelf Speakers – Home Stereo Speakers

I bought these to use as desktop speakers for my computer. I have them placed on my desk book-ending my monitor in a room that is roughly 20 x 15. I use these in a house but they could easily work very nicely in an apartment. The speakers look and feel really nice. I bought the wood grain style and it compliments my desk. As far as sound goes, they are clean and crisp; a nice blend of highs and lows. I plan to buy a new subwoofer to give me some extra lows. I was using a 17 year old low-end Sony receiver to power these when I initially hooked these up. The sound was there but no punch or clarity. So I recently upgraded my receiver to a new Yamaha RX-V685 and I can really hear the difference. The new receiver puts out enough power at low volumes to produce a nice, clean sound. I've turned the volume up and they can take a nice bit of power but I think they shine at lower volumes.Overall, really nice speakers. I'm not disappointed in my purchase. Great for small spaces. Very clear and punchy. No distortion or interference. And they look really nice.Update 10-8-20:These Audioengine HDP6's are still kicking. I've had no issues with them since my purchase over a year ago. They now sound better since they've been broken in. I added some quality Sanus stands and that changed the sound quality completely. Once I moved them off of my desk and put them on the stands I could immediately tell a difference in the quality. I highly recommend stands.

I wanted a natural wood finish on some speakers to hang in the corner of my pool room, just down from the ceiling...I bought them for their size and how the wood finish looked...I am happy with how they look and, very importantly, how they sound...they mix well with the other speakers I am also using...definitely pleased with price point, sound and looks.

excellent speakers. High quality and good sound for the size.

Very reasonable price for exceptional sound and build quality. Look great too. These speakers really upped the sound of my home theater system.

Don't be fooled. This isn't a pair of speakers as the picture and description indicate. It is a single speaker.

They sound great, look great, buy them

These speakers are great. Great performance and great aesthetics.

Fantastic, beautiful, sound great!! I use these in the master bed room(18 x 24) there powered by onkyo cr-n755 mini network receiver needless to say it doesn’t take a lot to drive these speakers I think they very Neutral sounding no boom boom base are tap tap highs, you hear the music and you will fill it!!! every now and then I get that grin boy they sound sweet. I listen to mainly rock music Pink Floyd , The Who etc. but classical and jazz sound wonderful through these speakers also.
