The Ultimate Wiring Puzzle Solver
Installing a new stereo in my Jeep was starting to look like a job for a mad scientist. The wires were everywhere, and I was about one YouTube video away from giving up and starting to listen to the voices in my head. And then this little hero arrived. This wiring harness turned a tangled mess into a simple, color-coded, plug-and-play operation. It's a small piece of plastic and wire, but it saved me so much time, stress, and a potential electrical fire. Now my stereo works perfectly, and my Jeep is officially the go-to spot for impromptu parking lot dance parties. I can't recommend this enough for anyone who wants a headache-free installation.

Fits directly and works as expected
It is a direct fit and is very easy to connect to your head unit if you use those tiny screw clamps to join the wires (or you can solder + heat shrink for the best durability). Connects straight to the factory connectors behind the dash

good quality harness
there is one thing people need to know. I installed this in a 2000 Jeep XJ and i saw some reviews about having to switch the orange wire over one. They were correct. It is very easy though. you just have to loosen up the blue holding tab and move the wire over then put the blue tab back in place. Other than that it does good.

Way easier than cutting and splicing the wires in the car.
The radio wiring harness has matching description labels and was able to easily match them.

Simplify your install
Makes an install much easier on old chryslers, which have an annoying 2 harness system. Worked out with no mods needed.

Worked perfectly but looked like an Octopus until fully installed. Make sure you have small wire connectors and crimping tool.
Well you really can't fault Metra with this - when you are done putting together the system with the wires, it looks like a multi-colored Octopus. You would think in this day and age we would be using standardized connectors and wouldn't need to hand-wire things together to do something like replacing a car stereo. But the fault is with the car-companies, not Metra. Metra's harness solution worked as easily as possible. That said, you do need to hand connect about 20 or so wires, and Metra does not provide the caps/connectors to do that in the harness. So remember to order a bag of small wire connectors with this. I did not know to do this until I had both the stereo and this harness and attempted the installation. Not having the connectors meant I had to again order and wait about 3 days. I used the twist-on type - easy to use, protects the connectors, but isn't pretty. But once the stereo is installed, all the ugly wiring is out of site. Also be sure you have some kind of crimping tool - i.e. a tool to strip the sheathing off the ends of cables. I had one already, but if you don't do this sort of thing often, you might not have one.

Check your wires before you put together
Worked fine except the radio light wire is in the wrong hole

10/10 estrellas

Some modifications needed for 2nd gen dodge ram
This item worked on my 2001 ram 3500 with some modifications. Everything worked but the aftermarket radio would not dim. To fix this I had to re-pin the grey plug so that the orange illumination wire was in the proper position. It was easy to re-pin I just removed the blue piece out of the front of the plug, pulled the orange wire out of the back with some force and then seated it in the proper spot and re inserted the blue piece. I may have only had to do this because my truck had the upgraded stick radio but if you are installing on a 2nd gen dodge just check where your illumination signal is come from in the truck and make sure the orange wire on the metra connector is in the proper position.

Perfect
Purchased to make a clean easy install of new receiver in old truck. Worked exactly as stated, pigtail clipped in nice with factory harness, and seems to be the exact same quality as a $25 harness I've purchased from a local store before.
