A++ kit!! comes with the chain AND the tools to replace it easily. Also come with not 1 but 7 (including the one you put on) so 6 extra master links! Also 2 different pieces of metal hooks which I used to hold the chain together while I worked! What a kit. Especially for the average person who isn't serious about his bike enough to have specialized tools to do all this stuff this is an amazing purchase for the money. Especially these days! Got my bike up and running in 15 minutes! Id say the tools alone are worth the price.

The chain thickness measured 6.1-6.3 mm. I think the spec for this 10 speed chain is 6.0 mm. This thickness had no effect on my derailleur to easily shift gears. In fact it only took a few very minor adjustments to smoothly run thru all the gears. The pin removal tool almost maxed out while removing the pins on this new chain. It was way too fragile and it was very apparent to me that this tool was incapable of pin removal on my old chain. In fact it took quite a few good hammer blows using a punch to remove the old pins. Easy to see why folks are destroying the removal tool.

This went on a new to me older triathlon bike, with 2x9 gearing, mostly Shimano 105 components. After painting it, I wanted to replace all the parts that were showing their age. The good: This chain is every bit as smooth as the original, and I really like that it comes with several master links. The not so good: the included chain breaker and master link pliers are definitely not made by Park Tools. I managed to bend the pin on the first use - fortunately, didn't damage the links in any way. And there is a spair pin in the handle. The master link pliers are nothing spectacular, and were a bit difficult to use, but they got the job done. The chain itself gets 4.5/5 stars, and that's why I bought this kit. The tools served their purpose this time, so can't gripe too much for bonus tools.

Sometimes you wonder why there isn’t such a thing as half a star when it comes to reviews. In this case, a simple set of tools to help remove a bike chain, has garnered half a star. I am fixing an old bike and there was a rusted chain on it with no quick link. I’ve never worked on bikes before so when I took the tools out I was a little confused on how they worked. I watched a tutorial and it was simple enough. But what I was watching on the video wasn’t matching what was happening in the field. Off the bat the gripped handle fell off. Not a good start. In order for the tool to work there’s a vice like device that drives a pin out of the bike link. The brackets on the tool that hold the device bent the first time I tried. It was comical how poorly these materials were. I could have managed except for the fact the screw to push the pin out didn’t even line up and wasn’t long enough to even work. Here’s the real kicker though. As I was turning hoping it would somehow in gods name actually work THE HANDLE BROKE OFF. I just laughed. This is seriously a piece of junk. I’d use another word but I don’t think they’d publish this review so use your imagination. Literally junk. I ended up taking a pair of plyers to it and finally snapped the rusty chain off. In order to install a new chain you need those piece of junk tools that are useless right now so I have to take my bike to a store tomorrow. Horrible purchase. Shout out to Amazon for the return and our local Kohls where I can drop it off. Serious yikes here. Don’t order this piece of junk trust me

I was excited to have this whole kit, chain and all the tools needed. unfortunately, the chain breaker doesn't work with the chain supplied - the pin pusher is too wide, and destroys itself and the chain in the process of use. It almost made the whole kit useless - but I didn't want to go through a whole other week of back and forth with return so I decided to see if I could make it work. I did manage to run a dremel over the pin of the chain breaker, narrowing it, then hammered it straight again, making it effectively usable so I could finish the install. Other than the chain breaker tool (which is a critical part of the kit to do the install), the chain, and the magic links and link tool are all fine. If this was advertised as "DIY chain breaker tool and chain" I guess I would be ok with it.

The chain splitter and link remover worked very well. And chain performed better than expected. Overall very pleased with the quality of the tools. For those complaining they aren’t Park tools quality, we’ll spend the $50 on the chain link remover and another $25 on the quick link remover… otherwise, for the average bike owner, looking to replace their chain and or remove their links, this kit should serve you well.
