At the beach right now and this thing is amazing! This is our pups first real beach trip and she is loving being able to run around and check out all the seaweed and sticks. We got her a 10ft cable tie and it’s perfect. The hole for the umbrella works great so she’s got plenty of shade. The mechanism that makes the cable rotate around the base works really well so she doesn’t get tangled up. Installing it in the sand is super easy too - we’ve used it in dry fluffy sand and also wet sand and all good in both. The locking mechanism was easy to figure out too. Highly recommend for pup safety on the beach. For reference, our very hyper baby is about 25lbs and pulls hard and this things doesn’t move a bit.

This product was such a good buy! I’m writing this review months later with nothing but good things to say! I am not very strong, but it is very easy to get into the sand and holds my 13 pound dog with no issues!

Worked well to secure our dog on the beach. That said, don’t automatically trust it to hold in sand - give it a tug or three using your full body weight to ensure it isn’t going anywhere before you attach your dog (and then casually keep an eye on it). I had the best luck placing it where the tide had completely receded and it didn’t budge even after six hours with our 45lb rambunctious puppy attached. I will say, the locking mechanism is a colossal pain in the you-know-what and definitely jammed with sand the first (and only) time I used the lock - I ended up digging the stake out and then unlocking it after it was freed. Since I wasn’t trying to secure anything other than the dog, I skipped the top piece the next day and clipped the dog to the closed hook and it worked perfectly. I will likely never again try the locking feature (because I don’t hate myself) but that piece can be used as a lever to more securely screw the post into the ground, so I will not be ditching it. We don’t have a beach umbrella, so I can’t vouch for that feature. Overall, I am happy with my purchase though I do feel it is a bit overpriced and the locking mechanism is trash. Granted, I’m not sure how to fix the issue, either.

We took this out of the package at the beach and set it up. I tested the lock with my dog and was pleased at how sturdy it was. I unlocked it, took my dog to get a splish splash in the water, came back and relocked it. About 30 minutes later we were ready for another dip, however the lock mechanism had sand in it and none of the dials would turn. We had to rip the whole thing out of the sand and walk our dog back to the car with it still attached to the leash, and drive to buy another leash. It's a great concept product and it works great if it's not got sand in it...which is nearly impossible at the beach. Would not recommend this to secure your pups unless you want to ruin the leash you use that day.

Absolutely one of my best purchases ever. Kept our dogs secure on the beach. It was absolutely worth the money. The ONLY downside was the combination wheel to unlock it was super difficult to turn...esp in the sand. Our remedy was to have 2 leashes per dog. One is attached to the diggo. One isnt. That way when u need to walk them u will be able to just switch it out from their neck rather than from the diggo device itself. Our dogs are super strong pullers and they couldnt pull it up. One is a 50 lb pitty. The other a 55 lb lab mix. We (the humans) tried to pull it out the ground and it wouldnt budge!

It works as suggested and is actually quite strong. My dog is 100 pounds. I felt confident sleeping on the beach without her running off. The only reason I am giving it three stars, is because when sand gets into the gears for the locking mechanism. You can no longer turn the dials. In order to get out of the ground, I had to dig it out with a shovel. Which was quite frustrating. Since I have been home, I have not been able to open it. It is currently in the dishwasher, hoping that the water will help break apart the sand particles stuck in the locking mechanism..

I recommend this anchor. It's Good quality and stays strong in the sand.
