We purchased the Petra Leisure 14 Ft. Wooden Arc Hammock Stand and have been extremely happy with it so far. The teak stain finish is beautiful and gives it a high-end look that blends perfectly into our outdoor space. It looks much nicer than the typical metal hammock stands and really adds to the overall aesthetic of the yard. The stand feels very solid and well-built. The 450 lb capacity rating gives us confidence that it’s sturdy and safe, and once assembled it feels very stable when getting in and out of the hammock. The curved wooden design is not only attractive but also very functional for supporting a full-length hammock. Assembly was straightforward and didn’t take too long. The pieces fit together well and the hardware felt durable and well-made. Overall, this is a great hammock stand if you want something that is both strong and visually appealing. It’s a great upgrade from basic metal stands and makes relaxing outside even more enjoyable.

I was a bit skeptical of this purchase since it was hundreds below other equivalent quality hardwood hammock stands AND included the hammock, but this is the real deal. I could tell from the packing that the quality was far better than other wooden stands in this price range based on comments I've seen here. It came well packed with zero damage to both box or product when it arrived. It was easy to put together though the instructions were a bit sparse - pictures only, but it's is easy to figure out and doesn't require a single tool besides a knife to cut the box open. The wrenches for assembly are all included. I preferred to use my own ratchet wrench for quicker, tighter assembly. Because it is solid hardwood it is extremely heavy though. And justifies the hefty additional shipping charges. It's every bit of the 98 pounds stated, and comes in a large unwieldly box. I wrestled it out back myself but I would consider moving it a two-man job. The pieces aligned and went together perfectly and the unit is extremely sturdy, stable and strong when assembled. It easily accommodated my girlfriend and I at the same time without a creak or wobble. So I honestly believe the 450 lb capacity stated. Though getting the balancing right for two people is a bit tricky. It took us a few tries, but the size easily accommodated us both. It was very comfortable and relaxing once situated. We found the best adjustment was lengthening to 3 or 4 links extra on each side. It drooped a bit more, but loosened the tension to make it easier to get on/off and softer/more conforming. Good quality finish work, and though I generally prefer the darker stained wood, it really looks good. I can tell the wood is well treated for enduring weather. The hammock itself is also really well made, looks as pictured, good quality and comfortable. Though obviously has far more firmness than a rope hammock. Would hightly recommend this product to anyone. A great product and a great bargain! Follow up: 3 years after purchase and still going strong. We live in Florida so it doesn't have to hold up to harsh winters but the frame has weathered well over time. A little rust on the chain and very minor cracking/chipping on the frame, but it has been disassembled and moved several times. The hammock itself has not held up quite as well. The rope is fraying and will probably break/need replacement soon, though it has seen only minimal use. Also, the fabric got a bit mildewy in spots, though admittedly, we never cared for it in any way, just left it outside. I used several cleaners and a stiff broom on it to scrub the mildew off and it was very effective at cleaning the stains but I don't know what that does for any outdoor protection that may or may not have been on the fabric. I would think with good care and medium use the hammock is good for 2-3 years and the frame still solid at 3. Still would recommend as a great purchase and an excellent price.

This is absolutely a beautiful Hammock stand. Very easy to assemble, very solid and nicely finished, and durable. This is really a bargain, even if you add the shipping costs! The hammock that is included is double-padded and appears to be of good quality as well. Of course, if left outside year around one would expect a certain amount of weathering and wear and tear! Some of the reviewers also complained about the Hammock being "typsy" and difficult to get on and off. Now, in all fairness, there is a bit of a learning curve and you probably have to adjust the length of the chains to find out what your preference is. Other than that, unless you have a bad sense of balance, this should be easy to master! After a couple of tries my wife and I had no problem getting on and off the hammock and find it very comfortable. The hammock and stand easily supports the weight of both of us (360 lbs). Overall, this hammock stands and hammock is a great buy that exceeds our expectations!

I LOVE my hammock! I've always though if I had a hammock, I'd like one of these cool looking arcs, but I wasn't sure it would be stable or comfortable. It was so easy to assemble - by myself - I was able to complete it in almost dark conditions - I couldn't wait until the next morning! Good hardware, and it was cute that they included (workable) "tools" but use your own socket wrench set and make assembly a lot easier. As someone noted, taking up extra links in the chains on each end raises the hammock so you are not crawling in and out at ground level. I attached a piece of clothesline cord to the base so I can "rock" myself by pulling on it while I'm in the hammock. And that brings up stability - it is rock solid.It's plenty heavy and doesn't move around even when I'm swinging away and I'm no lightweight. The one thing missing that would have earned it the 5th star rating was a pillow. It's ok without one, but a lot more comfortable with one. Finish and quality are good but I don't think the wood is what they claim. I'm not wood craftsman. I think it's stained to LOOK like something it isn't but don't let that detract from your decision. It's very sturdy.Get one! I'll probably get another one in the spring so I won't have to share mine!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I purchased this item based on reviews and in the process, I learned a valuable lesson. The initial description was misleading. It is not "Teak". It is Larch Wood and after you delve into the fine print you discover that bit of info. It should have been included in the advertisement alongside the photo. I tried to find out what the return policy was prior to ordering and the ad said "see Amazon return policy". I looked further as I was going to contact the company but, I never found a way of doing that until after I attempted to return the item. The quality of the hammock bed description stated it was "double padded" which was clearly bordering on misrepresentation . The hammock bed was thin, cheaply constructed, and unstable. The ropes were very flimsy and threaded through holes in the fabric. If you are dissatisfied, you're on your own in trying to ship the product back to the seller. It's very heavy and I couldn't begin to maneuver the box into my car, even if it would fit! I couldn't physically budge the box and suspect there are many others in that same situation. The company offered no assistance or suggestions on the most practical way of returning the item, just an address label which was absolutely worthless. In summation, I felt this was a very poor reflection on Amazon (which I love) and the seller. My suggestion if you are considering this item, know that any return will be very costly and physically challenging. I suspect that's why it's priced as it is.....Once it's dropped off the truck, good luck returning it! It's not financially practical and the company undoubtedly recognizes this fact.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this hammock because the price seemed to good to be true but I followed the reviews and I'm glad I did. The large and heavy box arrived 5 days after I ordered it via Fedex. The box had some minor damage on the outside but no damage to the contents. The assembly was very easy and straight forward and I was able to do it without help in about 30 minutes. Every thing fit together and all the parts were accounted for. Once assembled, you'll have to adjust the hammock chain to fine tune how low from the ground the hammock will be. This is very easy to do by just moving the lock to another link in the chain. The hammock itself is well made, with high quality wood in a natural finish. I was really pleased with how well made and sturdy it was. As soon as I finished putting it together we had about 5 kids in the hammock playing in it and it held up really well. I tried it out and it takes a little practice getting into the hammock, but once you're in it...it is sooo comfortable! Within a few minutes of gentle rocking I was dozing. Now my entire family want's to use the hammock. Even our neighbors came over, tried it and fell in love with it instantly. I plan on adding a hammock pillow to make it even more comfortable. The one con I found was that the spreader bar that is attached to the hammock does not match the frame but considering the price and overall quality it doesn't bother me.

I ordered this hammock for my boyfriends birthday on Monday afternoon, it arrived on Tuesday morning so I'm just gonna guess they are located in San Diego. My draw almost hit the ground when I got home and found this beautiful hammock already at my house less then 24 hours after ordering it. It is one of the nicest hammocks and stands I've ever seen. The quality is outstanding. It was easy to put together and the hammock itself fit perfectly and seems to be a quality hammock that will last. Its beautiful, well-constructed and worth every penny even though its half the price of other comparable hammocks. If you are looking for a hammock this is the best you can get for your dollar!

We watched an assembly video several times, since print directions for products of this type often are not always clear about which piece goes where. Once we had that sorted out, the assembly was cake. While others have mentioned quality issues with splitting wood - - which I could see is quite possible - - we got a sound and sturdy hammock that's quite attractive. And, it goes well with the teak furniture in our back yard. Since it will be protected from the elements under a breezeway, I'll wait until next year to give it coat of marine grade varnish, if needed.
