Dog loves this!
Have tried so many different kibble options at food store. Always tried to pick the high quality and/or grain free. Sometimes dog would like it but there would always be periods of time where food was left in bowl for 1/2 the day. Dog has always had gas that would clear a room as well. Started feeding just this and it is wonderful. The gas is gone and he loves it. He starts jumping when he sees us putting it in the bowl and it is gone in about 30 seconds. He then goes back to his bowl periodically to nudge it looking for more. I was worried that he might be hungry but he doesn't seem to scrounge around the house looking for food dropped by my kids anymore than usual (is still a dog after all) and I have never heard stomach growling or seen him look uncomfortable. I think he just REALLY loves it. We have tried the duck and lamb but I like how the chicken is usually a couple of dollars cheaper and it also crumbles easier when we prepare it. Now for the bad part. This stuff is CRAZY expensive to be the only food. My dog is a 15-20 pound yorkipoo so I give him 4 pieces twice a day. At $20plus a bag we go through it much faster than I would like. I can't even imagine if I had a bigger dog. My mother-in-law sees how much he loves the food and asked about it for her English Setter. We both agreed it would be way too expensive to be a sole food source for that size dog. We continue to use because we like not having to leave the room due to the dog's gas but I wonder how long I will be willing to pay this much before trying something else (honestly-probably a long time--his gas was really bad!!)

Excellent Food with Important Disclaimers!!!
I have a 10 lb. mini dachshund who has sensitivities to all of the commonly available pet store foods. I tried every brand, including those that are grain free, special diets, premium brands, etc. No matter what I gave her, she vomited EVERY day. She also had flaky dry skin and terrible dermatitis all along the edges of her ears. The only thing that helped was when the vet prescribed a daily dose of Pepcid AC. If she missed even one dose the vomiting returned. Given the fact that being on continual antacid drugs causes nutritional malabsorption, I was eager to find a way to get her off of that drug! In desperation I decided to try her on a raw meat diet. I began with a frozen prepared raw chicken dog food. I was so thankful that it worked! Eventually I tried the Primal brand frozen raw chicken formula, and that was the best: no tummy troubles, great skin and coat, and her dermatitis totally cleared up, HURRAY! When I discovered the Primal brand freeze-dried chicken formula I gave it a try and it seems nearly as good for her as the frozen (I think I am detecting a slight return of her dermatitis). BUT there are some important caveats: 1) The feeding guidelines on the packaging are grossly inaccurate (I found the same to be true with their frozen formula)! My little dog is less active than average. According to the package I should be feeding her 4 nuggets per day. In fact she needs *7* nuggets a day to maintain a trim, healthy weight. When I initially fed her according to Primal's guidelines she became emaciated (ribs and spine protruding)! 2) It is VERY EXPENSIVE! (Especially when you may need to feed nearly twice the amount suggested on the package!) I cannot imagine trying to feed this to any dog over 10 lbs. the 14 oz package lasts about a week. 3) It can be difficult to find--even online. So a back-stock at home is a must! Also good to know: The nuggets are too big and dry for my little dachsie to eat right out of the package. If you just pour water on them (even hot tap water) they do not absorb much, no matter how long it sits. They crumble quite easily, though, so I crumble them up and then add water to make a kind of porridge consistency. Since my dog is so sensitive to other foods, I am able to use small pieces of the nuggets as treats for her, which is a big advantage over the frozen version.

Found a Balance
I've finally found a balance of food for my 14yr old pup. After years of looking for the right mix of food for his health and taste, I mix this with water and add in 1/3 can of Ziwi Peak canned chicken (he doesn't like the Beef for some unknown reason) he eats it right up once he gets hungry. He's not a breakfast eater but sometimes he likes and afternoon meal then a 1/2 meal at night. Our Vet even said that if not for his eyes mild cataract fogging he'd never guess he was 14 so I'm doing something right. He's been eating for about 3-4 yrs but finally found the right canned food to mix with it because alone it's too rich for him. He has a strong heart and acts like a pup chasing squirrels and such and very little shedding given that he's a Jack/Corgi mix. When he eats regular grain dog food he sheds like crazy and we're covered in white fur all over our clothes. If you have a high shedding pup, grain free without soy peas beans and legumes like this with Primal is a great start. It takes about a month to notice so don't expect a miracle overnight but it will happen. It's been a life changer for us. Update: 8/26/24 Still excellent food with the same brand and mix of this and ziwi however with the last several bags of chicken is that when I open the bags and until bag is finished I get what I think are food mites. I canโt see them but I get the itchies and what feels like bug bites on me. The turkey/sardine isnโt an issue. I think theyโre called dog food storage mites. Take it for what itโs worth in what Iโm saying. Itโs still great food and worth it for my 22lbs pup. If this goes away or find itโs from something else, Iโll update. Iโll try another online shopping store for my next delivery to see whatโs going on. Me or the way itโs manufactured.

Love this dog food
Love this dog food, just wish it wasn't so expensive. I can only use as a supplement to dry food because it is so costly.
