Removes wax and oils from surfaces. A blend of solvents which in one application will remove wax and oil from any surface. Prior to applying a new finish or spot repair, clean surface with Wax Wash™ remover. The presence of oil or wax on a surface will retard drying of a new finish which can be avoided by cleaning with Wax Wash™ remover. Naphtha or alcohol by themselves will not remove all foreign matter as well as this product. Good to use on furniture, woodwork and appliances prior to refinishing.

**Q: Has anyone used this indoors? I want to remove a coat of wax from a very large and heavy buffet. I simply cannot move it outside.**
A: I use this indoors to polish a lacquered buffet and a lacquered piano.  I am mainly removing dust and smudges.

**Q: Will this product remove dye, transferred from jeans, off of white leatherette?**

**Q: Does this remove finish? Can I use this instead of stripping a table to apply a different stain?**
A: Good afternoon, 
The Mohawk Wax Wash Remover is a combination of solvents that removes wax, oil and foreign materials from most surfaces prior to applying a new finish or repair work of finished surfaces. Wax Wash is ideal for furniture, appliances, woodwork and other finished surfaces. Unfortunately it would not be useful in using as a stripping agent. If it is lacquer finish, you could use acetone or lacquer thinner to remove it. If it is a finish other than a lacquer, you will most likely have to sand the finish off. Again, with a finish other than lacquer, you may be able to hold acetone against the finish and every 10 or so minutes dampen it with acetone and it my gel up and be able to be scraped off after about 30 minutes. I do apologize for not having an easy answer, and whichever method you try, please be careful. Please reach out to us if you have any other questions!
