However, the bungee locks do not hold very well, so I doubled them back into themselves where now the bungee is so short that I have to pull it out to stick the umbrella in between my shoulder strap and bungee. This way it holds excellent. The bungee locks are pretty lame though. **Q: Can this attach to a life vest to use while kayaking or paddle boarding?** A: I think you'd be able to! But it would take some trial and error/practice to be sure it didn't get in the way of your kayak paddle or throw your balance off on AN SUP board. I have also had much better luck keeping this in place with velcro straps used for cable maintenance than I did with the provided ties. **Q: Can it withstand wind?** A: Mine has handled winds to 10MPH, but you will want to angle it, so as to not have it scoop the wind.
