work with guitar finishes?

The tinted fill in the tubes probably not. It’s not glossy like a guitar finish although you might be able to cover it with a glossy clear coat once it dries. The markers are a little glossier but you can’t mix them to get exactly the color you want like you can with the tubes. I used the tubes on some kitchen cabinets and they worked really well, drying to a satin finish similar to the original.

Deep bolt holes in wood accent wall pre fill holes with wood putty then finish with this?

Yes, you can fill the bolt holes with wood putty first and then repair them with this set. Or you can choose our RL0001 furniture repair kit, which comes with a repair fillers and markers, as well as wood putty and beeswax - one kit to solve all problems. ASIN for RL0001 is B08T12BCMW

Is this good for exterior use?

Probably. I’d say it depends on the size you’re trying repair. I’d also suggest coating the wood with some sort of protective coating to help seal from the elements.

Are the fillers water or alcohol based?

Don’t really know, package or fillers have no description of ingredients ,my guess is alcohol.
