I decided to try it and it was a great decision i made to cover large areas with acrylic paint. I don't know how it will work with other mediums, but it works well with acrylics. **Q: Does this brush shed?** A: It helps to know which brush you meant since there are several products clumped together on this listing. The splatter brush doesn't shed but the ferrule is loose and wobbly on 2 I've received so far. Disappointed in the quality considering I've trusted the Liquitex brand over 50 years. **Q: Is this a soft brush, or a harder bristle designed to create bristle brush strokes?** A: It is a stiffer bristle brush, but not as stiff as hog hair. It is designed for applying large areas of color or varnish. Unless the paint/varnish is very thin, it is likely that you will produce brush strokes/streaks with it. **Q: Would this brush be good for applying varnish to wood furniture?** A: I suppose it would. It has great coverage, but is more of an artist brush.
