I have an old box of the Animal Parade Vit. D and it contains a fructose/xylitol blend. I don't have any old boxes of the Vitamin C. In a quest to go sugar free (we've always been artificial sweetener free), we switched to Healthforce Truly Natural Vitamin C. It's a powder that I put in their morning smoothies. They can't even tell. :) But the Animal Parade was a good start for us in our health journey. They were yummy! Best wishes!Oh, and Healthforce uses natural acerola berry, too. Not the synthetic ascorbic acid...so that was another reason I switched. I have not found another vitamin with the acerola ingredient. **Q: Do these have a granulated sugar coating? My friend who just graduated medical school kept telling me to give him vitamin C but I had difficulty finding something he could take. He was already taking Flintstone vitamins so I couldn't see how this could help that much but after taking this product the last 3 months I have been amazed. During that time he has only gotten sick once!He started the vitamin C at age 25 months and I give him half the dosage (one tablet since 2 tablets is recommended for a slightly older child). I talked to his pediatrician and they said not to worry about dosage since he couldn't overdose on it. (He is currently 28 pounds.) He had already been in daycare 13 months and I estimate he probably had about 30 infections during that time, during the winter months it was as often as 1 to 2 infections a week and in the summer about every other week. Granted this is a sample size of 1, but if you are dealing with the same problem, I recommend trying it.I chose this product because it is a tablet and not a gummy, so I feel there is less of a choking hazard for a toddler. Initially, I cut the tablet in half but at about 27 months old I started giving him the whole tablet. My son had already been taking tablets presribed for his asthma so I knew he would be able to chew it. As for the flavor, my son loves it. He literally reminds me to give it to him every night! I tried it and think it's just ok so I am unsure why some people reviewed it saying it was bad.
