hobby grade
I just recently got back into small RC cars. I have a 1:16 that tops out around 15 to 20. I have a blast with it but it is brushed and all plastic. It has held up well but I wanted a little more. I watched a lot of different reviews and read a ton, and this car (the A version in particular) kept coming up in all these head to heads, and so much was being compared to this car. With prime this was a no brainer of a deal. The car arrived in perfect shape and on time. I charged it up and stickered up the 2 bodies. Of course it started raining once the batteries were charged. I did get it out the next day and all I can say is WOW. This is so user friendly with adjustable speed control and steering radius. Crank it up and it will blow you away. I'm going to guess it is hitting around 25 to 27 mph. For a small car this is WAY to fa;st. Slow down for a turn and punch it on the exit and it just launches into a twister donut. What a difference the shocks and brushless motor make. Battery life for me is 20 to 30 minutes depending on how hard I am driving. Tricks are easy and as you build up skill you can crank up the throttle for bigger jump and greater speed. I drive this up a large maple tree and use it like a half pipe jump. At full throttle I can sail it 5 feet up the tree before turning off the jump and sticking the landing. Too Fun. Only 2 real minor issues. #1 the brakes STINK. This thing takes FOREVER to stop. Not a huge deal but be aware that it needs a lot of room to stop. #2 There is no real "diagram" where to place the stickers. I used the box and matched them up pretty close to the body indents, but my old eyes struggled to get perfect placement (trust me the stickers really don't add or detract from the body as it looks good with or without them). I also want to note that the instruction booklet is amazing and has not only a parts diagram but an assembly breakdown as well. This is a great deal and I would argue it would cost nearly double the price to upgrade a car to achieve the level of performance and durability seen with this car.

Fast and Fun! Adjustable speed for all skill levels!
These are FANTASTIC! This is the upgraded version (brushless, better controller, more metal part - axles, oil filled shocks, 3-wire servo, larger capacity battery (2 of em), etc.). WELL WORTH the price bump over the regular 18859 brushed version (spoiler: you can't buy all the upgrades for the price difference). These can go crazy fast or be dialed down to more moderate speeds (ex. for running indoors). Full power easily overwhelms the tires, and becomes hilariously hard to control. Typically when bashing and racing around, we run between 1/2 to 2/3 power -- which is lots of fun! We've actually found that we tend to run faster laps that way vs. full power. I've noticed that these things take a beatin' and keep on tickin'! They are also fairly easy to clean and maintain. A couple notes: - use the included socket wrench to check your lug nuts before you drive (this isn't a problem, per se, but after a half dozen runs I noticed some of mine were getting loose) - they include extra hood pins -- and you'll use them. Impacts and flips tend to dislodge the hood pins and you are bound to lose some. - careful playing around curbs! - they'll run through grass, but tend to be hard to steer because the frontend will be bouncing up in the air alot! But, if you're gonna go off the track, that's the risk you're taking! - if you run in mulch, be wary of sticks getting stuck in the wheels and jamming up the drivetrain. It's easy to clear (just pull them out), but don't continue to try running it if you notice it limping along. These are great for beginners or veterans -- with the adjustable power on the controller, you can turn it up as you gain experience and confidence! There's also an adjustable steering limit, which is great for sharp steering inside, or more stable straight line performance outside. 1/18 scale is a compromise. You can run it inside, but it's a bit big (unless you have a large indoor area). You can run it outside, but it's a tad small. However, it's easy to store or travel with, and TONS OF FUN! I ended up getting one for my Dad, brother, and nephew (12) because they had so much fun bashing and racing with mine and my daughter's! NOTE: If you are getting this for a ~12 year old, please please please go over charging safety with them!

Excellent Buy
Review after one year of use: This is an excellent hobby grade RC car, super durable and fast enough to drive everyday. Best RC car at this price. First car for my seven year old son and he has now moved on to more powerful and larger hobby grade RC cars. But he says that this car is still fun to drive and he loves it. The 1/18th Size is small and perfect for everyday use/ fun. Parts are readily available on Amazon and are not expensive. HBX’s team respond to queries sent through Amazon messages within a day and are very helpful. One of the front dog bones got bent and the replacement parts arrived within 2 days. Nothing else broke in the car even after one year of use. We don’t bash them or mis treat them though! Old review: This is a fantastic RC car, my 7 year old son loves it. Works exactly as described in the product description.

Perfect Gift — She Absolutely Loves It!
I bought the HAIBOXING 1/18 Scale Brushless Fast RC Car (18859A) as a gift for my niece, and it was a huge hit. She absolutely loves it and hasn’t stopped driving it since she opened the box. The car is incredibly fast for its size, very responsive, and feels well built. It handles great on pavement and grass, and the brushless motor really makes it stand out compared to cheaper RC cars. Battery life is solid, and it’s easy enough for a kid to use while still being exciting for adults too.

Excellent car
This rc car is super fun. I have a Team Associated SC10 short course truck also. The SC10 is fun but expensive when parts wear or break. This truck is much cheaper and honestly is as fast or faster than the SC10. The LED lights are a fun touch. I also love how you can turn the speed up and down from the controller. Honestly about halfway is perfect for me. My 8 yr old son likes to crank it up as fast as it will go. So far it has held up great to a fair amount of abuse. My son and I drive our trucks fairly often and have had some pretty rough crashes and haven’t broken anything. I recently ordered new tires for it (you can see in the pic it’s long overdue for new ones). I didn’t realize until riding these tires though that the truck was supposed to come with second body. Mine only arrived with the purple body. I feel like it’s been too long since I ordered it to try to make a stink about it, just would have been nice to get two bodies. Aside from that, everything has been great. Super long run times, plenty fast for me, Highly recommended.

Super fun and worth the money
I love how fast this little thing can go and it can take a beating. The same day I got it I took it to the skate park and jumped the thing and took it like a champ no damage at all. I bought the older model a year ago and compared to that model it's so much better. It comes with the upgraded parts and with the full metal gears there will be no chance for them to grind away, like I had with the older model. Super fun and easy to disassemble and I do plan on upgrading a ton more on it. The controller is so much better with more controls to tune the car, the battery life is crazy on this thing I got about 40 minutes of full power fun out of it. For being a 1/18th scale the small size makes it super easy to grt up to speed and to fly super high. If anything does break they offer new and new upgradaed parts on Amazon and their website, shoot them a message they are very helpful. The company really does know what they are doing when it comes to cheap, fun, and fast little cars great for all ages.

Excellent Performance & Features
Much better than expected. Superior to RC cars at local big stores. Appreciate two batteries with two charging cables, bearings, metal axle drive shafts, and of course the powerful brushless motor. Controller also shines with features previously not seen in this price range. This truck is fast at full speed settitng and most likely top much for a child. To fix simply turn down max speed on controller. Run by 7 year with ease although box suggests age 14 and up. So far no broken parts after many crashes. Available spare parts like front suspension and steering components would be great but I am not sure if these are sold. Finally its low price is very satisfying. Enjoy with your family.

Wicked fun but two dud batteries and no aftersales care…
This car is insanely fast, and tough too. Really good fun. But both the Lipo batteries that came with it died after a couple of uses—I charged as soon as the car stopped responding, but got the red flashing light of doom from the charger. Tried contacting the company but no reply. Found a replacement by Xinlehong that worked, from Aus electronics direct, but would rather have had it work first time! Or have had some response. Apparently DEERC do good customer service; I’ll buy from them next time.

Really fast!
Comes ready to go with two batteries for a total run time of about 40mins. Adjustable speed to allow younger children to learn the controllers easier. Robust enough to survive crashes no problem. Highly recommended for good fun

So far so good! Couldn't have asked for more.
I did my research for getting my 4yo his first rc and I wanted something durable and 'hobby' grade so that I could replace the parts for when it inevitably breaks. The adjustable speed is perfect as I can keep it on the lower settings for him and then turn it up when I get to play with it. He's now moved up to the fastest it can go which is pretty darn fast, and has no problem controlling it. It's been through all sorts of mud, water, rain etc. and hasn't missed a beat. One of the front LED headlights popped out first run but it was easy to put back in and hasn't had a problem since. Other than the shell which I don't expect to hold up to the abuse we've put it through, it's been near indestructible as evidenced by the video I uploaded (plus it comes with the extra shell anyways which we've had to switch over to). This was the worst hit, but was after many other big crashes at the skate park and it is still working flawlessly. We've only had it for less than a month so we'll see how it holds up, but if something were to break today i'd say we already got our money's worth it's been so much fun and reliable.

Awesome little truck
Bought this for my 4 year old as his first “hobby grade” truck. This little thing is rank, crazy tough, and super fast, and I have to turn the speed way down for him to control it. Even for me at max speed it will flip on grass or spin out into donuts on pavement if you aren’t careful with steering. We have thrashed this thing with jumps, crashes into trees and curbs, and a few full speed cartwheels that tumbles 30-40 feet down the street before stopping. Other than a couple small body scuffs, it’s still as good as new. Battery life is actually quite good too especially with two batteries. 100% worth the money. Side note, the GDOOL 1/16 scale paddle tires fit perfectly on this even though they are a bit bigger diameter, and they turn this little truck into an absolute monster in loose dirt and sand. With these paddles you actually have to turn the power down or accelerate gradually or the truck will just instantly backflip.

Great little toy - seems very durable
Happy with the quality - hasnt broken or anything. Pretty fast. It is a little front heavy so doesnt do jumps well but handling is great etc.
