Absolute must have for every aquarium - show quality super clear water. amazing. shocking results.
this stuff is amazing. hands down, the best filter media. originally i was torn between the 100 micron and the 50 micron...i decided on the 100. and i'm so glad! my tank is CRYSTAL CLEAR! just look at the side view from my photos. i love that this just comes in as a giant piece of fabric. i just made a template and cut it....it will last many many moons. i'm using it in a fluval spec V. originally i wanted to go with the original filter media by this company...the stuff they say to use with this filter felt to get the best result. i still may buy that...but really, i'll probably just use a little polyfill. i was using poly fill originally and it worked okay....it did not work like this. i expect to have to change this every week, maybe two weeks. it's been just three days and it is already turning colors...i probably wont attempt to rinse and reuse....i want to stay as close to this crystal clear water as possible. super impressed. i do think i have a little reduced flow rate from my pump because of this. i will most likely turn up the pump in my spec V. just haven't done that yet because i have a betta. i am also contemplating getting the 50 micron. we'll see. for now i am perfectly content with this. it is definitely more expensive than polyfill. but the result is incredible. and this product is going to last a long time...so glad i bought this. i mean, i honestly can not believe how sparkling clear my water is. this is the water quality i have longed for. before i thought i was just incapable of achieving perfectly clear water like so many people do. but now i am a fish keeping pro.Update: So i get about 1 week of usage out of these pads. but that is without having any additional mechanical filtration in front of the this pad...i am calling it filter felt. which i believe is another term for it. i am using this in a Fluval Spec V....it works amazing well in a fluval spec...just cut to size and placed in the rectangle filter block on top of the sponge. i cut it 1/2 inch longer and that works nicely. it's a snug fit so no water bypasses the filter felt. i was already anticipating having to change the filter felt pad today or tomorrow....when i got home today i noticed that closed off section that houses the pump for the Spec V had gone way done....about 4-5 inches from the display part of the tanks waterline. that to me is indication to change it....put in a new piece of filter felt pad and the water level immediately went back up. so yes, the longer these pads stay in the filter and accumulate more gunk, the harder it is on your water flow. i have raised the flow rate of the pump all the way up, full blast....this used to be a problem because i have a betta. however, with the filter felt pad and the pump on high it does not bother my betta.my tank remains crystal clear. everyone that comes over comments and says they have never seen a home aquarium as clear as mine....i truly do feel like a fish keeping pro with this filter felt. for me, it was the missing link in my filter. please, if you're on this fence about this product just buy it and see for yourself. you will be amazed.i am not affiliated with this company. i have never spoken to them. this review is 100% my experience of this product. i truly believe in this product.

Great Product, Extends Life of Filters and Cleans Great!
I have started cutting this to size and adding it on top of my filter (which are expensive). This catches almost all the particles, extending significantly the life of the filter. I’ve also note the clarity of the water is soooo much clearer now. I have a beta tank with top down filter system

Works really well, and the price is great!
The picture is about 6 hours after cutting to shape and adding the polishing pad to my FX-6. For my 80 gallon Mbuna tank it is working extremely well! And yes I have an East African sideneck turtle in the tank with them as well so you can imagine how dirty it can get even though she has a 30 gallon terrarium up above connected to this tank and the turtle and fish actually get along really well.Anyway, this polishing pad is well worth the price, can't really clean the material as it is fairly dense and fine however you get a good amount to just replace it once a month or so.

The reviews are accurate, it works amazingly well.
My kids’ rooms are flooded with sunlight and their planted fish tanks have an algae problem. I recently bought a mini algae magnet for wiping down the walls of the tank and then, bought this 100 micron cloth, thinking that if I wipe down the algae, I want to make sure the water in the tank is filtered very well.Well, the algae magnet worked and took care of the algae on the walls but, the surprise was, this 100 micron cloth filtered the water so well that the algae on the rocks and the glass pebbles all disappeared in a day without my having to remove and rinse them. I was loathe to disturb the plants in the tank to remove the algae on the rocks, it turns out with this added to the filter I didn’t have to.Don’t get me wrong, we use a sponge & ceramic media in the filter, do frequent partial water changes and check the nitrate levels. The water was healthy, clear and very clean, with no visible particles or specs floating around.*But* after adding this 100 micron cloth to the filter, it’s stepped up another level. There is a noticeable difference, it’s crystal clear. My husband, who doesn’t deal with the fish at all, even stopped and commented “Wow, the tank is looking really great! What did you do?” And the betta is zipping around the tank very happily.Important notes:1. Cut to fit and rinse the cloth to remove any loose fuzz before using it.2. I have it setup so first, the water goes thru the sponge, then the ceramic media and finally it all has to be strained through the 100 micron cloth before returning to the tank. The cloth weave is so tight, it will slow the return down and raise the level of water in the filter, so take note.3. When you put it in the filter, *make sure the ROUGH side of the cloth is on the outside.*If the soft side is on the outside, it will spew little cotton particles into your tank.Trust me, I did it wrong at first.
