The outer case is damaged. Other than the defect the product looks genuine I would like to exchange but since I am leaving the country today I have no other choice but to keep it.

nice lunch box overall~ the bottom compartment is meant to hold soup and doesn't leak even a bit (you would need to make sure it is closed tightly properly though), and the soup is still very hot (not warm) when it's lunch time (from ~8:20AM to 1PM). the middle compartment can keep the rice warm (probably better if it is preheated with hot water). the top compartment is meant for side dishes (i think) and doesn't really hold the heat that well. size is very compact which is a plus point to me

Over priced for item

After reading the only other review, I had some trepidation buying this, but after seeing some friends of my two high school age kids carrying these to school for lunch, decided to give them a try. This particular model is small, and contains a small cup and a slightly larger bowl , along with a spork(spoon with a forked end). We had made some curry stew the previous night, so put that in the larger bowl , and put some rice in the smaller one (all heated up in the microwave right before storage), and off we sent our kids to see how it would go. When they got back from school that day, they were very glad they could finally bring heated up leftovers to school for lunch - no more half frozen pizza or burritos, and definitely not any more "hamburgers" made with patties with who knows what!?. They said that the food wasn't piping hot, but it was still warm enough, and nothing leaked. We didn't have any problems with leaks - the instructions are all in Japanese, but just looking at the pictures, you could see that there is a little "lip" on the bowl cover that you must make sure to put all the way down before you store it in the container. One issue though is the size - this particular model is small, maybe large enough for an elementary school lunch size. Our daughter is prety petite, so this was big enough for her, but not for our son, who really pack away food like a typical teenage boy. So we'll probably get him the next larger size. So overall we are quite happy with this purchase so far, and if any issues do arise, we will post updates. Now we can save some big $$$ by having the kids take hot, home made lunches to school - I wish we had found this years ago!!

This is exactly what I want. I filled with boiling water at 4pm and forgot to check. Until the next day morning,water in rice jar was warm. And very fast delivery.
