This is the best way to inspect the inside of stringed instruments like violins without taking them apart. The switch design is much better than the Steelman light I've been using for 40 years. As far as I know, this is a unique tool.

I should have read the other reviews. No real mechanic would use this junk. It's all flimsy plastic. Screw it together and it immediately breaks. Light switch always on. Light not bright. Plastic cover (hexagon end) won't fit over end to double length. This is a fail. I sent it back. Don't waste your money. Buy steel or aluminum.

I bought one in the 1990s to inspect a wing spar and when I picked it up this year, the switch had broken and there wasn't a way to fix it, so a new one was in order. This is an improved model, with a better design for the end cap/switch, so it should work better. It works and is a unique tool to help with getting a spot light on areas that are hard to access. Don't store it with batteries inside if you don't use it weekly. For the price, it works great.

Nice, HOWEVER: Well made and highly useful in tight quarters. Sturdy aluminum body. However, the "extension" part for which you pay extra is not an extension. The six-sided opening at one end does not fit over the butt end of the flashlight. It does very tightly slip over the wand tip if straightened and down to the flashlight body. It is a functional guard for the light tip and flex neck, and has a pencil-sized hole in its end to let the light shine out. But it doesn't EXTEND the length of the flashlight's reach. Steelman customer service and tech advisors were surprised by this, assuming, as I did, that an extension would fit at the end of the flashlight and allow a farther reach between your hand and the lighted tip; it does not.

Title claims that it’s an 11 inch bendable light. Further in the description it states 6 inches are bendable. In reality, only 5 inches are available for bending as seen in the photo; the clear plastic tube doesn’t allow it to bend any further near the base. The bendable portion can only be bent to about 135°, beyond that the light begins to flicker on and off. When working it is not very bright. The plastic housing also makes me wonder how long it’s going to hold up. But to be fair, it does work so for that, I give it three stars.

Garbage, the light does not turn off. Also the light brightness is dingy and very bright. Not a quality item, I’m returning the light. Don’t waste your money on this.

It's great for those little dark areas that are hard to see even with a flashlight.

Ich habe die original verpackte Lampe heute als Geschenk weitergegeben. Der Beschenkte wollte sie gleich ausprobieren, aber sie leuchtet nicht! Die Batterien sind voll, die Isolierscheibe hinter dem Schalter wurde entfernt doch sie kommt nicht zum Leuchten! Nach versuchen mit meiner bereits im Einsatz befindlichen Lampe stellte ich fest, das im langen Schwanenhals ein Unterbruch ist! Wie erhalte ich Garantieersatz? Freundliche Grüsse ruwyro Rudolf Wyss
