QED Reference XT40 Speaker Cable Pair (5M)

I originally left negative feedback because the photograph of these cables showed them with the more robust connectors than the ones I received. I have bought a lot of things online, and I note the common trend of some sellers to do this sort of thing. But, I am willing to assume this was an honest mistake by this seller, since it responded quickly and appropriately to the error. Now, onto the actual product. I am picky about audio. I have a separates system with about $15,000 invested. So far, I have not found these cables to be a limiting factor in sound quality. They produce a huge dynamic range without harshness, but with superb clarity, detail, and depth. I would say that, for the money, they are hard to beat. If you are wondering whether good cables make a difference, they won't unless you have a good system. But, in a good system, they can make all the difference. I gave them five stars because, for the money, they are five-star cables. Sure, SOME other cables that cost a lot more money sound better, in SOME systems. But, in the world of audiophile quality, these are a bargain for the sound they transmit. They are better than anything else I have tried in this price range, and better than some in much higher price ranges.

Initial impressions are very good. I replaced SVS sound path ultra cables ( 100$ For 10 feet pair ) . Comparing with svs and qed, Dynamics better in QED and musical flow is very good. Quality of banana plugs top notch and Feels high quality. I had Audioquest type 4 also, They were warm sounding if remembered correctly. Not worth spending that much money when we have these QED now. I will update after 2 weeks of usage.

Normal plain old ten buck 50 foot speaker wire is fine. No problem with it. Sounds great. But for those like me, those with the blessing/curse of a picky ear and a need to hear the little things on their music, these QED wires are like night and day. I’m hearing things I’ve never heard before in albums I’ve listened to hundreds of times. Cymbals are crisp, vocals are deeper, and the overall sound is incredible. Well worth it.

Recently upgraded my home theater speakers to the Polk Audio LSiM 707 along with the speaker cables. I always trust What Hi-Fi's review, and this time no exception because this cable not only improves the overall song stage but more importantly it unveils details that I've never heard before compared to my also quality Emotiva speaker cables.

Great cable, better quality than most. Snug fit does not move.

This cable brought depth and clarity to the music from my speakers. Truly revolutionary!!!
