Great little fan!
With hurricane season in Florida, you can never be too prepared... last year, we went about 2 1/2 days without power and did not have any kind of fan which was honestly a mistake on our part.Bought 2 of these, since I have a dozen or so 20V DeWalt batteries and first impressions are fantastic. The battery fits into the receptacle and locked into place so no risk of it coming out, especially when moving the fan. The space for the battery easily holds 5AH battery size. One control, a rotary dial, turns it on and adjust from very low to very high speed. At the lowest setting, it's not super efficient but you can tell it's moving air. Turning up to medium or high and you really start to feel it. I can see using these in the garage when puttering around as well.Did not realize that there were 2 hooks for hanging, so that was a great surprise. It's pretty lightweight, even with the battery, and not terribly obtrusive in size. The noise is minimal at the lower speeds and while noticeable at higher speeds it's not terrible... I suspect after a bit you would simply tune it out.Reviews say it can last up to 10 hours on a single battery at low speeds (but don't say what AH size battery)... I haven't run it that long yet to have an opinion on battery life but based on all the other DeWalt stuff I have I expect it to be very good.If you need a lightweight, cordless fan I would definitely recommend this one (especially if you are already in the DeWalt family of tools).

Only Use DeWalt to Save Your Batteries
I bought a knock off of this fan on Amazon and it worked great until I pulled it back out after the winter was over. The battery was dead, so I put the battery on the charger and used another one in that fan. Long story short, it killed two fairly new batteries. This happens when the fan uses up the battery and when it's time to charge, not even a blinking light will come on the charger. I cannot afford to loose my DeWalt branded batteries so I went ahead and purchased this one. So far, I have had no issues at all. This fan has a variable speed controller so you are not limited to low, medium or high. You can dial in any speed you like. It feels a bit sturdier than the cheap knockoff. I love that it has the hooks that pull out, though I have not used this feature. I'm using 5A batteries and on the lower speeds that I need, it has lasted weeks, with still two lights on the charge indicator. This will be used outside, and perhaps inside during power losses in the summer. I am very pleased that I purchased this fan, hoping that it lasts a long time. This does NOT have a light on it either, but that wasn't even a selling point for me. Fits any DeWalt Max battery too.

Great fan not just because its DeWalt
I was wrong when I thought it was overpriced and given a good review by DeWalt fanboys, but got it anyway. This is a high quality well built fan. Super quiet at low speeds. Lasts a long time on a DeWalt battery at least at the speeds I used. I thought I would need one of my large capacity batteries but instead I use it with the 2A and 4A batteries I never use with my tools. I still have the option to use a large capacity batter since they fit too. I'm glad I got this fan vs a knockoff.

Would recommend
My husband wanted this fan to use during power outages and outdoors. I was skeptical at first, but I love it! It's practical and very useful. We recently attended an outdoor birthday party for a child and the weather was a little warmer than I like. I do NOT like to be warm or uncomfortable! This fan was perfect! We didn't need to worry about plugging it in anywhere - just turn it on and enjoy the nice, gentle breeze. It's so quiet, you won't remember it's on! The fan is sturdy as well. I highly recommend it!

Must Have for Anyone in Hurricane Country
We got this just before the beginning of the season, checked it out - it cools the area quickly and has so far been very reliable. Definitely recommend, especially for areas that have frequent power outages due to storms & other disasters.
