Takes A Little Work, But Worth It.
UPDATE 3/2018- The original 2 bulbs I ordered are still going strong. Instant-on and no hum, they provide a much better quality of light than the old fluorescent bulbs that they replace. If I didn't make it clear in my earlier comments, I am using these in desk lamps in my home office, and they are really terrific. I had one more lamp to convert that had the ballast built into the head of the lamp, and difficult to access. So, I ordered 2 more bulbs and tackled the job when I had plenty of time to be patient. I am rewarded with what is really a "new" lamp. Again, I stress that especially in this case, removing the old ballast is a job for someone who isn't afraid to disassemble things, work with internal electrical wiring, and make secure connections. But, this old lamp has always been my favorite one, due to its "retro" cool design from LEDU, and now it is even better than ever. These are terrific replacements for the original dim and yellow bulbs. ORIGINAL COMMENTS: Really terrific replacement for the old weak fluorescent bulbs that came with my 2 lamps years ago. I DID have to remove the old ballast transformer from the end of the wires and install a plain 110V plug, but that was easy and quick. If you use these with a ballast, you will damage the bulbs and possibly overheat something, so be aware that in most lamps, this won't be just plug-and-play. But, "converting" the lamps was easy and the reward is that they now work better and brighter than ever. If you are not comfortable with cutting stuff off a lamp cord and replacing the plug, then this probably isn't for you. You need to have some tools and not be afraid of wiring a lamp.

Worked well for me!
They fit, they work, , they are brighter than the fluorescents they replaced. the 3000K is too warm for me. I will merely wait for them to burn out and then Iโll get the 5 or 6K variation-if I live long enough. In my application, these lights were plug-n-play with no reworking needed. Iโm pleased.

Workable replacement- Very Bright output
Appreciate the brightness of this option bulb type. As a renter the resistance to come out of pocket for parts and appliances are at the forefront. This odd light source is above the bathtub/shower. Nice to have but after time a bulb burned out and light output was intermittent. Eventually got around to investigating what is actually in this contraption. Located these as replacement option. Purchased. Slightly longer than old bulb assembly. Angled - forced into place , installedโฆ WOW, what a difference.

Excellent
We have 6 light fixtures in a series on one light switch that are inset flush mounted into a brick wall surrounding our raised terrace, installed 24 years ago when he house was built. The fixtures were fluorescent and some ballasts stopped working. I prefer LED and these unusual longitudinal shape/size bulbs were fortunately available. I removed the ballasts and rewired the hot wires together and cleaned out any unneeded metals parts in each fixture. I was able to replace the old fluorescent bulbs simply by using the same socket and these LED bulbs. They are unisided so light emanates from one side and the other is coated with a paint to allow reflection of light outward in one direction so be careful to install bulbs correctly. And be gentle as these have long skinny glass tubes. These are much brighter than the fluorescent bulbs were, and are going to last a lot longer and be a nice feature in our terrace lighting. It was a challenge over several years as the lights died so I knew I had to finally tackle this project. It would have been a nightmare to remove 6 metal light fixtures and replace them with new ones, would have cost about $1200 at the least expensive option I could find, plus those would not have fit the holes in the brick walls. Fixtures are pretty simple, a metal box with socket and wires connecting. It was a bargain to buy these LEDs and restore the existing fixtures. Thank you to the company that made these.

New life to my old desk lamp!
Followed instructions to remove the ballast from my old CFL lamp. Although I had never done this before, it was not hard to cut the wired to the ballast (circuitboard with stuff) and reconnect the wires directly to the switch. Just need a wire cutter, strip some of the ends, twist them together, and electrical tape to wrap. Now it works great! Nice and bright, no flicker or hum. Would buy again, but it comes in a two pack so I'll likely never need to buy another!

Best Replacement Bulb for Ott Lamp (after conversion).
I have four Ott Lamps that use a CFL bulb with this type of socket. Approximately two years ago, the bulbs in two of these lamps burnt out in rapid succession after 8 years of light to moderate use. The Ott replacement bulb costs $20 each. I don't think I paid that amount for the entire light. I was about to throw them away. In my search on Amazon for replacement bulbs, I saw these 120VAC LED bulbs which had similar light color and Lumens. I converted those lamps to 120 VAC by removing the ballasts. It was easy to do... Just cut the wires to / from the circuit board, remove the ballast, and solder each wire together (one wire to Neutral, the other wire to Hot -- make sure to insulate the connections well with appropriate electrical tape). This Bonlux bulb does indeed put out the equivalent light compared to the Ott bulb, both in terms of color and intensity. The cost of the Bonlux LED bulb was 60% less than the Ott replacement bulb. Plus LED's use less energy, give off less heat, and last longer than the CFL's. Plus the CFL's contain mercury which make them environmentally hazardous to dispose of. The other day, a third bulb Ott bulb burnt out. It took me approximately 15 minutes to convert that lamp. I removed the ballast, re-wired, and installed the Bonlux bulb. I couldn't be happier with the results. My Ott lamps are back in service. They perform as well as the originals, plus these Bonlux bulbs are significantly cheaper. I also expect them to last longer.

These are bright white lights that can be used to replace older fluorescent bulbs. We had a problem with one of the bulbs and contacted the seller who quickly sent us a replacement. Excellent service and the light is now fully working

Perfect Replacement for PL Fluorescent Bulbs

I read a number of reviews complaining that the bulbs donโt work properly or that they are dim. The instructions are clear and state that you must remove or bypass the ballast. These have worked perfectly well for me.

Desk lamp, works great

Item arrived on time and in good condition. I got the bulbs installed and they've been working for upwards of a month with no issues. I previously had CFLs installed and it would have been nice if these bulbs included instructions for bypassing the ballast - it ended up being pretty simple. Can't comment on longevity so I'm withholding a star.
