COOLLCD HD2 7-Inch HDMI Monitor with HDMI in HDMI out Component in Composite in for DSLR CANON 5D 7D

The down part to this monitor is that it did not come with instructions so it took awhile to figure out how to adjust the monitor and to get it to fuction with my camera. Once that was figured out the monitor works extremely well. Its great when shooting documentaries because the screen is large enough for me to keep watch to make sure my subject is still in view while I am standing off to an andgle.

It works! So I am happy about that, but over all, I'm not to thrilled about it.The reason I bought this item:1. The price2. DC adaptor as a power option3. The screen hood4. The HDMI cable that was included5. The hot shoe mount that was includedWhen I first receive the item I almost sent it back because I thought it didn't work. Come to find out there is a delay. It takes about 15 to 25 sec for the monitor to pick up the signal from the camera. I shoot DSLR so I'm constantly switching modes in the camera and even then there is still a 15 to 25 sec delay.The monitor DOES have speakers and a headphone out put, but it only works during playback, still a good thing to have.What would make this monitor better is if it had a built in battery. The monitor takes the same rechargeable batteries I use for my LED light from Neewer (WHICH IS AWESOME!) However I have the large super duty batteries that make the monitor 10x more heavy making the camera wobble during camera movement. The HDMI cable is really short so I can't find good places to set the monitor down other than on top of the camera. I had to make a separate stand for the monitor to get all the weight off the camera.All in all, it works! (Because having the gear and looking the part is cool).

I received the monitor and originally it appeared scratched which was actually a plastic protection to remove from the screen- which I think the distributor should include a paper to inform you of that- I also saw scratch marks which actually were just on the plastic layer and not the screen itself. I contacted the seller who responded the next day ( and considering that it was a Holiday in China I was surprised to get a response). They explained the situation after I attached photos of what I thought was the damage. They were very cooperative with my concerns as I was on a deadline and offered to send me a replacement even after I used the monitor for a shoot the next day. I have a Canon 7D and 5D Mark II and it worked well with both! It takes a few seconds when you switch between live and review your shots and at times it shoe 4:3 and 16:9 which surprised me- but for the price you can't beat it and the seller was great with attempting to resolve my dilemma. I will be purchasing from them again!

I would say that the screen has been great for shooting video and have considered getting another for when I have my other camer shooting video also. It just makes it much handier to see what is going on.

This is a cool little LCD, (No pun intended) for the price and with HDMI in and out makes it even better. I gave it 4 stars because the zoom function is unusable and locks up the screen to a 480p res. I was able to get it back to 1080 by connecting to a blu ray player, but have not tried it again since with fear that it may happen again. I don't need to use this function since I shoot on Canon SLR's and it has that function built in. I don't want to hassle trying to send it back and thus far it seems to being doing the job.
