If your cat likes pâté this is a good brand with salmon as the main ingredient
Premium cat food brand with first ingredient salmon and second ingredient chicken. My cat doesn’t prefer pâté texture so I need to chop it up. This is an excellent grain free cat food but will stick with flaked and gravy recipes.

Quality Issue?
My cat is picky and this is the only wet food he likes, been on it for years. Recently reordered and got a lot # 20281002 and he will not eat it. Smells it then tries to "bury" it. Tried multiple cans from 2 separate flats (but same lot#). Found previous batch locally and he's eating that normally. Not sure if formula changed or singular bad batch.

Rancid
I used to give my cat nutromax, but it was discontinued. She is not a very picky eater when it comes to wet food, because I use it more as a treat. She loves fish and wild game, can't get her away when i open any cans of anything. But this food... I am not sure what is going on with such a well respected name. The food is rancid, looks like it spoiled brown, shrunken in the can with oily, nasty smelling runnoff in the bottom. She was so excited to get her treat, but when I put it down for her, she immediately cringed, squinted her eyes and nose and backed away like it was poison. To me, it just didn't smell or look right, but maybe it was a bad can... I tried to give her bits over the next few days and same reaction. I opened another can that was the exact same rancid smell and look. This time I left it in her dish. Not a speck touched and she was so repelled she would want to get a drink from her water dish near it and would stop and back away and meow looking at me because she was afraid of the smell of the food in the area. Cats are smart and some are picky eaters, but sometimes they smell toxic things in ways we can't with instinct. Her body language said it all. Normally if she is given something she doesn't like, she just steps over it. But whatever is going on with this very expensive food, it repels her from being anywhere near it. The pictures posted by other reviewers saying the same are accurate. The meat looks shrunken, brown surrounded with air and oily discharge looking stuff on the bottom. It's not gravy, it's disgusting.

Have to defer to Mother Nature on this one
My cat isn't fussy and has yet to turn down any food I've given him. He may occasionally walk away but he always comes back and finishes. What I like about this food compared to another is that the can doesn't contain a high proportion of liquid/gravy. Since my cat is older and has lost some teeth I feel that foods that don't have a lot of chunks are easier for him to eat. Of course, that doesn't mean that I want to pay for liquid; I can always add that myself to make it easier for him. UPDATE: 3/31/16: I'm very surprised that my cat dislikes this variety of Blue Buffalo cat food since he's very tolerant, in general, and eats turkey in the formulation of dry food that I give him. I've tried giving him half of this food and half of another at a meal and he seemed to be eating it but he has been very jumpy lately and afraid, of even me, which is odd because he's outgoing and loves people. I'm hoping it's something in this formulation because I've tested several ways and this particular food he WILL NOT EAT AT ALL now. So Mother Nature rules.

Rarely in stock - Subscriptions ignored
Cats loved the product, but the supplier is terrible, and they run out of stock consistently. Don't bother telling you, especially when you're on subscription, and you just end up with hungry cats.

Made my cat sick.
I was hopeful that this would be a good wet cat food for my diabetic cat, particularly as it is grain free. I did some research and it was rated highly. Unfortunately, each time I fed it to my cat he would vomit it up shortly after eating. This is the only wet cat food he has had issues with.
