It is rubberized with fairly soft rubber. Cushiony and comfortable.

I'd lile to know what size to get if im a size 8-8 1/2 in womans

In men's, I should have sized down 1 size. They are a little loose but I have no blisters so.. and if you care to ware sox then this factors as well. Hope this is helpful.

How well these stay on in thick lake mud? I have a hard time keeping other brands on my feet. They get stuck in the mud and slip off.
