Overall this is a very good product
We have used several brands of solder butt connectors like these. They all work in a similar fashion. This brand is very consistent from connector to connector and melts well. We noticed that it took a bit more heat to melt the solder to a good flow into the wires. It is just a matter of finding the correct balance between amount of heat being applied and the distance between the heat source and the connector being melted in. Just a bit of practice, but we have used a lot of these. For added insurance we do cover the finished joint with a separate piece of heat shrink to get a really secure joint.

Better than the old crimps
Itโs 2024 please stop using the old wire crimps. These are great and youโre actually making a solid connection that is also waterproof. Theyโre easy to use they stink around the wire great and have a little bit on glue that seals the connection

high quality, melt nicely- i have bought over 1000 (commercial trailer repairs)
identical to what I used to get from Fastenal but a way better price!

You want to ensure that you dont use too much heat as it will melt the weather proofing on them.
I installed a front Bull Horn assembly on my 2018 F150. I used these for all the connectors that will be exposed to the weather. They worked very well and were very easy to use.

These make a good solid connection but you need a fair amount of heat
So these work well and once you get the technique down and get the right heat gun its straight forward. First though, I'll say you need the real deal heat gun and while they mention using a reflector as recommended, I'd say its pretty important if you want to get the solder to melt quickly and efficiently. Without the reflector I found it takes a long time to get the connection hot enough to really melt the solder. Especially with 10 ga wire drawing a lot of the heat off. Also, you can't use any run of the mill heat gun, it needs to get pretty hot. I have two heat guns and a pretty decent hot air solder rework station. One of the heat guns is a little older and I don't know where the reflector is and that one didn't work well at all. The newer heat gun with the reflector worked ok. My solder rework station worked faster, but it worked best with a backstop to catch the heat as it doesn't have a reflector. Once you have done a few to test you figure it out and its fine after that. I cut open several of the first ones I tried and there was pretty good solder flow into the strands, so overall I give these a thumbs up.

Amazing
Great purchase if you repair wires. Iโm a mechanic and use these on open wires on vehicles.

Better than crimp
These thing are fast and strong as long as your wires are touching it will bond them well. 100% recommend. Heat gun, matches, soldering irion or lighter it all works.

Genius product
These things just make so much sense. The one thing that I would suggest to you is to consider the environment and heat gun you useโฆ meaning, if you are using a large heat gun around a lot of wires be very careful. It took a little longer than usual to melt the solder. A smaller heat gun might have been better
