DermMatch: Thickest Looking Hair On Earth. The Better Hair Loss Concealer For Men & Women (Black)

I'm a 24 year old female and I'm super self conscious about my thinning hair. It's mostly diffuse, but it's mostly noticeable around my part and top of my head. I'm still trying to figure out what's causing it, but since high school I've noticed my hair gradually thinning more and more until this year it became noticeable to other people. I started using Toppik in dark brown, which I loved at first until I noticed people staring at the top of my head during conversation. My main problem is near my part, and with a non-precise application like Toppik, it can get messy around the part and look weird and powdery. To make it look natural, you want your scalp to show so you can have a part, but Toppik tends to cover the part completely, making it look unnatural and noticeable. I began looking elsewhere when I wanted something that can withstand a slight mist or some kind of precipitation, which Toppik can't do. I was directed towards DermMatch and was skeptical after trying something similar in the past. Before trying something like this and throwing it out immediately, you must know there's a technique to the application, which took me a few weeks to master. This comes with a big sponge eyeshadow brush type thing, which I hear the company will send you more if you run out, and you wet it. I have a small cup that I dip the tip of the brush into, and I rub the sponge onto the product to dampen the surface. Then I take the applicator and dab/brush it onto the areas of my part I want covered. I leave a narrow part so that my hair looks thick. Then you quickly run over the areas with the blow drier and *important part* wipe away the excess product on your scalp with a tissue. This is super important because this product on top of your shiny hair will leave a matte finish. It looks natural on your scalp, but not on your hair, so you want to aim to wipe it off your hair and not your scalp. Check the mirror and repeat if some parts need more product. I don't hair spray or anything on top. I don't think that would work all that well anyway. Once I shower and wash my hair it all comes off. I've slept with it on and haven't gotten any on my pillow, but I also don't put this on the sides of my head. If your boyfriend runs his hand through your hair, some will probably get on his hand. If I sleep with it on, I do a little touch up the next day, not a full application. I haven't tried walking through light rain with this or jumping into a pool, so I can't speak for it's water proof abilities which it claims, but this stuff does not budge throughout the day whereas Toppik started bunching up weirdly around my hair. Sometimes if there's still a little scalp peeking through and it's not right next to my part, I sprinkle a tiny bit of Toppik to cover it. I then pat it and dab a little with a tissue. I want to say since DermMatch has a little bit of a waxy texture, it gives a little bit of a grip to the Toppik. I hear people like to use both DermMatch then Toppik on top for any patchy areas, and it works well for them. I have dark brown Asian hair, and I got the darkest color. It works well. You use so little product that one pan will last a very long time. I thought this was just going to be eye shadow on my scalp, but the wet application makes it different and so much better. You get lots of precision. However, I can't speak for people with a big area to cover, since I imagine that would take a long time. I also suggest you have a little hair on top to blend this all together. If you smear this on a completely bare scalp, it'll just look like paint.

Awesome product. I had been buying this direct from the company for years, but found it on Amazon so I don’t have to pay for shipping. Dermmatch really, really works for me. It covers up my bald spot and fills in my hair. After washing my hair, I towel dry it, then blow dry it just a little. Then I apply some Dermmatch and brush it in while blow drying it again. I also apply a little to my mustache and beard to darken them. It washes out if you use soap and/shampoo otherwise it stays in. Finally one container lasts me a long time - I’m thinking 6-9 months. Go for it. I’ve been using it for over 20 years.

Trying to get the product to cover the scalp evenly is impossible. It goes on in patches. It took much time to get it looking somewhat even. Then to apply it to the hair took a lot of time and then having to wait for it to dry. It did create some fullness to the hair, but the time and work involved is too much. It is also not water proof. The next morning, after sleeping on my hair, I needed to apply some water to get my hair to lie down. Drips of colored dermatch appeared.

As a black female who has locs and alopecia, I have been using this product for nearly a year and I have a love/hate relationship with it. The pros: it conceals my spots and makes me feel less self conscious about my hair loss. The cons: it's dry, itchy, and messy. When my scalp itches, I scratch and get the product under my nails. If I put on a top that has a small opening, the concealer gets on the top. I used to use water-proof mascara when I had fewer spots, but I switched to this product when the spots progressed. Since I haven't found anything better, I will continue using this because it is better than using mascara.

I love this product!!!!! It hides my very obvious balding areas very, VERY well. My hair is extremely thin, but bc of this product only me and my hair stylist know about my thinning hair. It stays put in the rain and even when swimming. The pillows sometimes get stained and if you scratch your head it does come off under your nails. But other than that, only soap and water gets it off your head. I even used it during my wedding. A container will probably last me about 4-6 months. The only downer is the price. I remember the first time I bought this approximately 4-5yrs ago, it was only about $30. Now the price has sky rocketed into the $70-90's. I'm sure the vendors have wised up, and inflated their prices d/t supply and demand, but seriously... Im in desperation to find another product that gives me the same results at a lower price.... wow... I sound addicted.

I've been using hair club for men for 7 years and wish I found this product sooner. I have very thin hair in front and then patchy spots in terms of hair thinness from after 1 inch in from my hair line. I also have very thin hair on my crown. My Mom suggested Toppik because she started using it. I bought the travel size to try it out. It works as described by the company however it better when using you have more hair between each other. I read reviews on various site and gathered a list of product to try. I decided to try Dermmatch and if that didn't work then Courve. Dermmatch proved to be the winner and my saving grace. It applies like makeup concealer very easy. Blow dry after its applied and made sure it was dried and then I ran some tests. I rubbed my head very hard back and forth and even though a little of it came off, it wasn't noticeable on my head. I also put some water on my hand and did the same test rubbing hard back and forth, same results. This is a great product. Comparing the pictures I took with Toppik and Dermmatch, Dermmatch look much for life like. I'm really happy and excited that I can get back a natural look compared to my hair system. And if it looks dull just add some kind of shining product and it looks good. All in all, I'm happy and will be able to get rid of my hair system. It will be a low cost solution as even worst case, I'm assuming just if it lasts half the time the company says, would be 9 months. I highly recommend trying this product.

Let me just set the predecent for this - 1. this is the first time I have ever been compelled to write a review for anything in my life, and 2. I consider this truly a life changing product for me, which made it imperative for me to share my experience. I have had hair loss / thinning issues at a particularly young age, and have been using propecia / rogain for a couple years, which has been great. This product just augments all of that - it make my hair truly look unnoticably perfect looking, by smartly "filling in the thinning areas", and blending in with the hair I have. Using it, I for the first time in a couple years have been able to feel remarkably more confident both in social settings and work-related meetings, and feel a renewed energy for life. A few notes on it: - it works particularly well for thinning hair, as the black color / impact on surrounding hairs creates an unbelievably seamless effect - not sure how it would be as helpful for completely hairless areas - it takes about 5 minutes in the morning, every morning to apply / get right - a miniscule price to pay for the impact it has - it actually does stay on both in the rain, and in the pool, which is literally shocking Anyways, just thought I'd share that with you. Hairloss is tough to deal with, particularly at a young age - I was smart about it and took good care of it early on, but it certainly did it's damage to my self-esteem / "zest for life" for the couple years it's taken it's toll. Adding this product literally makes me feels hair-issue free, which is nothing short of life changing in every regard. Best of luck to all of you sufferers out there!

This is a good product for resolving bald or thinning areas of hair. I wear my hair in a short afro. I suffer from alopecia from tension when my hair was locked. I use the color black to cover the bald spots on my scalp. DermMatch provides just enough shading to give the illusion of have a complete hair coverage. It is easy to use. After applying it a few times you figure out the amount to use for your hair. I find I use too much it is obvious that there is a coloring applied to the hair. I want it to look as natural as possible. I also use it by wetting the applicator as well. It does last until your next washing however if you use products on your hair everyday like I do you may need to reapply . If you apply it with product in your hair it may look slightly greyish before it dries completely. DermMatch does the trick and I feel less conscious about the condition of my hair. It is well worth the money and will last a long time.
