Review: Excellent saucepan with a perfect pouring spout - I bought this pan specifically for candy making, and for that purpose it’s been absolutely perfect; especially if you’re just getting into hard candy, syrups, caramel, or anything that needs a controlled pour. The thick bottom holds heat nicely, which gives you a little extra working time when you’re moving from the stove to a mold, slab, or secondary container. The pouring spout is also a huge plus. Whether you’re decanting, filling molds, or pouring onto a slab, it makes the whole process cleaner and less stressful. Even outside of candy making, this is just a really good saucepan. It has a nice weight to it without feeling clunky, and the handle is comfortable, ergonomic, and stays cool while pouring. It feels sturdy, well-balanced, and tough enough to survive real kitchen use, including the occasional drop on the floor that was totally not my fault. It also works on all heating surfaces, including induction, which is a big plus. The quality feels right up there with pans that cost three or four times as much, so this is a really great price. I’d definitely buy this again. Great little pan.
Review: Work of Art, Worth Every Penny - ***** This little pot is a work of art--fine workmanship and beautiful to look at and wash. I recently got rid of my microwave, and thus needed something to heat up my coffee with--so I wanted a small pot. I hesitated to pay so much, especially when the handle could get hot. This little pot is WORTH the money I paid for it (with tax almost $40) and I am going to buy another one to hold in reserve for when this one wears out. It is sweet, incredible, beautiful, and I don't miss my microwave one bit if I have something like this to use instead. Some reviewers said that handle got hot and others said it did not. This is because it would depend upon what you were doing with it and where on the stove you had it. For example, on a small burner, for a short time (as in heating up coffee), with the handle hanging over the stove and not the burner, the handle will not heat up. If you leave it on any burner for a long time, and/or it is full, and/or if it is on a larger burner (not recommended), the handle probably will heat up. The manufacturer recommends using a pot holder always. I love the pot so much I don't care about that, now that I've used it and see how incredible it is. I would only use this for small jobs (like reheating coffee) and baby it, because I want it to last. Plus it isn't the best thing to use for heating up lots of vegetables or browning meat or things like that. For me, it's a happy part of my daily ritual now, and I'll use it also for heating soy milk and almond milk and things like that--basically a milk pot. I want to keep it looking nice. It can go in the dishwasher, but it is not recommended as it can be scratched by the detergent. Mine will never see a dishwasher, as I'll wash it out by hand, again, to keep it sparkling and pretty. A: I have not made Carmel. I would consider it has a heavy bottom. It cleans up easy if soaked. I use it mostly to cook steel oats.

I bought this pan specifically for candy making, and for that purpose it’s been absolutely perfect; especially if you’re just getting into hard candy, syrups, caramel, or anything that needs a controlled pour. The thick bottom holds heat nicely, which gives you a little extra working time when you’re moving from the stove to a mold, slab, or secondary container. The pouring spout is also a huge plus. Whether you’re decanting, filling molds, or pouring onto a slab, it makes the whole process cleaner and less stressful. Even outside of candy making, this is just a really good saucepan. It has a nice weight to it without feeling clunky, and the handle is comfortable, ergonomic, and stays cool while pouring. It feels sturdy, well-balanced, and tough enough to survive real kitchen use, including the occasional drop on the floor that was totally not my fault. It also works on all heating surfaces, including induction, which is a big plus. The quality feels right up there with pans that cost three or four times as much, so this is a really great price. I’d definitely buy this again. Great little pan.
