Will it stay in a big side of tooth missing

Waste of money. Lucky if it stays in for a day. Also so hard to apply.

How long can it stay in?

As long as it lasts which isn't very long most I got was 3 days but waste of money really as it just wouldn't set . I found using it just before bed gave it the best chance used paper towel to soak saliva applying it
