This is a 5 year later review. And they still work! Easy to put up. Not bright but good!

Well, I bought these lights for my fence post exactly five years ago and I just changed the batteries in them for the first time today!!!! They still worked, but the lights were dimmed, so I decided time to replace the batteries.They are excellent and have kept on shining through five winters of snow, ice, rain, and summers of extreme heat and wind. Absolutely one of the best things I have bought on Amazon.

* * *UPDATE SEPTEMBER 24TH 2018* * *Upon posting my original review (below), I was contacted immediately by OTHWAY, offering to give me a full refund AND keep the lights, only because I wasn't 100% satisfied. I was really surprised and happy with such great offer, but I turned it down because I thought it wouldn't be right since there is really nothing wrong with the product, it just wasn't powerful enough for my needs.Since I declined the refund, they gave me a code to acquire a new set of more powerful lights so I could be satisfied. I took the offer and order them for free! I have yet to try them, but when I do, I will post a review of them here and on that product's page at Amazon.I'm adding a star because of the impeccable customer service. Kuddos guys, very, very impressive.I stand by my review, this are decorative lights, but you can't go wrong with a brand with this kind of commitment. I will soon and let you know.-----What you need to know:YES:-They work: charge during the day and illuminate at night automatically.-Easy to install-CheapBUT:-The power of the light is very dim (only 4 mini LEDs per unit)-The charge does not last all night (I'll say an average of 6-8 hours maximum)If you want them for decoration purposes, get them. But if you want to really illuminate a patio or garden, then look for more powerful ones. I've waited over 6 months to review these lights because I wanted to see how durable they were. Well, to be honest, they have outlasted the solar ground stakes that my husband bought at Home Depot. :DHe took a look at them when I first got them and told me his would outlast mine. I'm laughing now because his died the first week and mine are still going strong. I can't say enough good things about these lights. I have them about waist high all around the wooden fence in the backyard. Every time I look out the back window I can see all around my backyard without turning on the porch light. It's very satisfying to say the least. It use to be pitch black out there and it was kinda scary. Now there is soft white light illuminating all around my backyard and I can keep an eye on the dogs when they go out at night and not worry about them being off somewhere in the pitch black dark. The batteries were included and I haven't had to change them yet. They have worked during rain and over 100 degree summer heat. All of them are still lighting up every night. I'm very impressed.

The side of my house is where a tenant walks to get to a backyard cottage. There's no light there and it's very dark. I put these lights on the fence facing the walkway and they work perfectly. I have had them installed for a year. They have not broken. Were easily installed. Am satisfied and buying more. Love solar lights!

I didn't have high hopes, northern Illinois, rain, snow winds, shaded areas. Have had the lights for 7 months so far and not a single problem. Most my lights get about 8 hours of sun a day, shaded ones between 2-5 hours a day. The low hour of sun last from about 8pm to 1am to 3am, the higher sun hour ones last until about 6am. Cloudy rainy days last less but still light up for a few hours (as to be expected). All and all I feel they were a good buy so far.Update, purchased 2021 it is now 2023. I have had to replace 4 lights, two of them my fault I dropped tree branches on them. Two of them the LED lights started to fail. But after 2 years and only two failures out of 40+ lights I feel it's still a good buy. Lights are for the most part still staying lit all the way till the morning, a few die out about 3-4 am but those are the ones that are shaded for part.of the day.Update. Purchased October 2021, it is now February 2024. they don't last as long as they used to, but that is to be expected. Still with a good day of light they still make it to 3-4 in the morning but they used to make it until 6 am, so after 2 and a half years they have lost a couple hours run time. Snow, rain, winds, no major issues at all.I would recommend this item.

I bought these for each fence post around the perimeter of my yard. At first they looked great, after the first year I noticed a few start to dim and and this summer I am left with over half completely out and on the cuff to order new replacements. The price point isn't horrible but when you're replacing over 20 lights every two years it starts to add up and you would think the product would last over two seasons. I imagine a competitor at a lower price point would last the same amount of time.

Almost had these for a year. They were super easy to set up and use. They looked good when they were on. Wish they were just a little brighter. Only drawback is that only two of the six we have still work.
