Maybe this one will last?
I gave it 4 stars only because I have only been using it for a week. That said, I wanted to comment on it. I have always bought the Panasonic branded headsets of this design at about the same price. The problem is that not only would they become uncomfortable on extended calls of more than 30 minutes, but the unit would not last long. They would stop working in just under a year. Common problem is that you could hear the other person, but they could not hear you. The other thing that used to bother me about the headsets I used in past was that they were just straight plug-ins, no controls. One had to control the volume on the phone itself which meant taking it off the belt clip and then putting it back on...PITA.I took a chance buying this unit. It cost about the same, but something looked better about it in general. What I have noticed so far:The thing that goes out on these headset units of this type is the angle connection on the cord where it plus in to the phone. This one has a tag wrapped around that part, which may or may not mean extra strength, time will tell. What I like is the in-line on/off switch and volume control. Those come in handy, no more playing with the phone during a call. The headset itself is about as comfortable as the ones I have used in past, so no difference there. As for sound quality, I have read reviews that both complain and praise on all headsets. Sound quality is dependant on the other end as well. There are no miracle cures, if the other person is using a sub-standard phone or indeed a cell phone, sound quality can vary wildly. What sound quality am I getting? Mixed. Some calls are great, others are hard to fully understand, kind of muddy. I feel this has nothing to do with the headset and everything to do with connection and the phones in use. Finally, while it seems like a small thing, these units come with an extra pad for the ear piece. I feel that could be a sign that this unit will endure beyond the one year point under normal use, that is unless the ear pads only last 6 months, but again, that depends on usage.Like I said, I have only had this a short time, so nothing is concrete.

Best volume, comfortable, durable, in-line mute switch - great product!
I work from home and use a headset daily for online training. I prefer the freedom of my cordless phone over being tied to a computer or desk phone.I've used Plantronics M214C headsets with the same features as this one for many years but I keep a spare on hand because after 1-2 years of use the wires would break within the outer insulation, just over the mute/volume control, causing either inbound or outbound audio to go silent. The "speaker" must be more efficient in the Arama headset, because the volume from my calls is much louder than other headsets I've tried. I actually have to turn it down. My audience or whomever I'm speaking with tells me that my voice on the other end is clear and the volume is good. Background noise has not been an issue either. The mute switch has a positive click so, once you get used to which direction it needs to be in, it's easy to use without looking. It's positioned high up on the wire though, closer to the headset than I would have chosen, but it's okay once you get used to it.The headset is comfortable for me for all-day use and seems to be well made.I was on the verge of buying a much more expensive headset that did not have the in-line mute switch. I'm very glad I chose this one instead. I prefer it over some I've used that were priced much higher.I think this is an excellent headset for cordless phones.

Worth the price
I've used this product for several hours at a time for the last few nights. I've been using headsets similar to this one for years, so I have some frame of reference to compare. The headset has a more professional, durable feel to its cheaper, plastic competitors. The sound quality is excellent on both ends. The mute switch and volume control are nice features. I especially appreciate the adjustable microphone wand. The jack fits my cordless phone just fine. If I have to think of something to criticize this product on, the cord is almost too long, but that is nitpicking, and not a real criticism. The real measure of a product like this, ultimately, is how well it works a year from now, or two, or three. I'm hoping this product will last me a good while, but that remains to be seen. For now, I'm quite impressed.

Great Headset!
I bought this to use with my Panasonic portable phone. It works very well. The sound in both directions is very clear. It is a lot more comfortable than the headset on the home dialer which my office gave me. I use this every day for several hours and it is comfortable. No complaints. I am glad I bought this model. You can try to get a good item by making a selection based on the reviews. I appreciate that people take the time to write reviews. I am glad I replaced my ATT phones because they did not have a port for a headset. It is so convenient And comfortable, especially for those long phone calls.

Perfect for my landline
We recently moved to the mountains and aren't able to get cell service (I know, imagine that.....), so we purchased a land line telephone. Since the phone isn't bluetooth compatible, we purchased a cheap headset. It worked perfectly....for about three months. Then it completely went dead. So, I decided to spend a little more and purchased the Drama Wired Headset. The sound quality is significally clearer than the first one purchased, and the headset itself is lighweight and comfortable. I highly recommend this prduct for both home and office use.

On/Off Mute Switch is Great
We like to have an on/off mute switch instead of the press & hold style. This one works great and the sound quality is good. Would buy again.
