I have been using mine quite regularly for about a year now and I have been perfectly happy with it. I do transport it in the box it came in to avoid damage, and I always turn it over carefully so as not to damage the internal alarm on/off switch - and it has worked well for me.
Review: Worth it - Expensive for what it is, but you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find a simple/decent alarm. Beautiful design and really simple to use and love how the flip functionality works, will see how long the battery lasts but I'm hopeful it will be a few months at least.

I am aware a lot of other buyers have had problems with this item. I have been using mine quite regularly for about a year now and I have been perfectly happy with it.
